Did the government create problems by giving tax breaks, meant for business, for vehicles over 6000 lbs?

Why not give the tax break to those who purchase the most efficient automobiles, or alternative fuel vehicles, to encourage responsible use of resources that everyone must use?

  1. Your suggestion would be way too logical for our government, particularly those who are currently running it.

Seriously, this tax break does not make any sense.  If a business needs a large vehicle, then let them buy a large vehicle.  Why should they get a tax break for it?  My company doesn't get tax breaks for buying expensive equipment that we need.

If we're going to give tax breaks on vehicles, it should certainly be on fuel efficient vehicles.

  2. Every "environmental" tax break the current administration has granted is a sham.

  3. the government didnt create to problem but they ;have certainly contributed to it.   i have never  understood why anyone would be encouraged to drive a monster vehicle when they don't need it...unless to support the oil companies and the car manufactures that build them.  I agree we should give tax breaks to those that save fuel and find  ways to save our resources

  4. Sure it makes sense, just like giving the oil industry all those tax breaks as well!

It's completely backwards if you ask me!
