  1. Better. this counrty wouldn't be a super power if it wasn't for our industry. Our industry won WW II. Provided jobs got us out of the great depresion. Tons of stuff.


  2. For food production, it's definately an improvement.  The increased food led to increased people though (i.e. 5 times as many).

    Let's face it, people weren't completely unhappy before and some have ways of life that are just fine for them.  To take that from them and make them "civilized" may not be appropriate.  

    I think the paradigm shift is neat.  When I was a kid everyone was all about how much you can get and how rich you can get, and now alot of people are going to "what's the least I can use and be okay", movements like hypermiling and farming for yourself.  

    Industrialization gave us Warcraft II BNE :-).

  3. Depends, do you like things like indoor plumbing? Or do you like running outside in the middle of the night to take a dump in the creek?

    In the old days, only rich people could afford things that you take for granted.
