Did the mccain campaign steal obama's thunder?

when obama opted for more of the same with biden and brought in new and the change obama was preaching about? seems like mccain is opting for real change and biden is only one heartbeat away from politics as usually.

The question assumes that Obama had 'thunder" in the first place.

The only change I see that Obama and company has done is to apparently alter his birth certificate.

Are we watching the same convention here?

Polls show Obama is ahead of McCain.  Since McCain picked Palin it has actually helped the other party than hurt them.  The drama surrounding Palin hasn't helped much either.
