  1. Beyond

    The rim of the star-light

    My love

    Is wand'ring in star-flight

    I know

    He'll find in star-clustered reaches

    Love,

Strange love a star woman teaches.

    I know

    His journey ends never

    His star trek

    Will go on forever.

    But tell him

While he wanders his starry sea

    Remember, remember me.

The song was never sung on the show.  Only the instrumental version was played.

  2. Gene Roddenberry penned some quick lyrics for the song when he found out that you can get royalties for writing the lyrics for a song even though the lyrics are never used.  Gene knew how to make the Hollywood system work.

  3. None of the Star Trek series had lyrics besides Enterprise. TOS and TNG had Kirk and Picard do the opening but when the song hit there was no lyrics. For some reason in 2001 they decided to have an opening with Enterprise with lyrics. I dunno how or why they did that. It was different to hear lyrics in a Star Trek show.
