Question:

Did the referees cost us the match against the Kiwis in the Tri-Nations?

I think so. The referee had two bad decisions at the beginning of both halves. The video ref's decision was questionable at the very least. Brent Webb got away with at least 3 rips that the ref ignored and I'm sick!

Also Adrian Moreley is a still a liability. He was sent off in the first minute of a tri-nations either last year or the year before and was lucky not to have the same thing happen this year. At least Terry Newton has calmed down a lot under the guidance of Brian Noble!

  1. Moreley is a fool he was lucky not to be sent of in his last game he is a thug and a liability to the team

The Kiwis can keep doing there little girly dance and watch the mighty Aussies take the Trophy back

  2. yes,i agree

  3. lame excuses will no longer rub with me!

We should be playing at least two friendlies b4 we go in2 competitive internationals (France and an NRL team would do).

And we should be having a break in the middle of the tournament!

Also, if we are ever going to realisticly challange the kiwis and roo's we are going to have to open up and play a more expansive and skillfull game plan.

    MORE OFFLOADS and MORE WIDTH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on Boys its time to take some risks!!

  4. Gees you people write alot of c**p!!!! (Oh, I mean the answerer's to this question). The Lions lost it for themselves-they don't know how to finish, if the Kiwi's were playing the Kangaroos they (the Aussies) would have beaten them by 30 & NO, the refs do not favour nz'ders. The league refs are just useless ,no matter where they come from.

  5. Yes, I agree. The referee cost GB the match. If he personallly had'nt scored 3 tries and made 34 tackles, then NZ would not have won.

Stop blaming the ref and enjoy what was a very entertainiong match, I hope that the rematch is half as good.

  6. Yes, I also agree the referee's decisions affected the game, and allowed New Zealand to win.  Those rake outs were clear as a bell.  Not 5 minutes after those rake outs, NZ gets a penalty for dropping the ball, and it was ruled raked out.

It appears, the referees have been doing as much as possible to get NZ to win.  It was only in the last 10 minutes, when NZ were ahead by 16 points, that they allowed Great Britain to play.  It is funny how GB were able to score two tries in this period, but it was not enough to win the game.

If you watched last weeks game between NZ and Australia, you would have seen similar tactics from the referees.  Everyone thought the game was wrapped up, and that Australia could not score 12 points in the time that was left.  They were shown otherwise, and Australia were able to win.

This week, it appears they were aware of the amount of points that could be scored, and made sure New Zealand were more than 10 or 12 points in front.

Another note, the combination of Martin Gleeson and Brian Carney does need some work.  Neither knew what the other was doing, and it created some errors that were not needed.

  7. Yip, the referees at the tri-nations are normally very lenient to the all blacks.

  8. i disagree, our lack of discipline especially morley's and the inabilty to break a kiwi defence until the lat 10 minutes cost us the game, also dont forget that kiwi's have already played 2 games whereas this was our first real competitive hit out for a few weeks
