Question:

Did the right wing care about military service four years ago? Eight years ago?

In fact, the dems had a decorated vet in Kerry and the right wing slammed his service and elected a draft dodger for President. Now that they have a vet, they act like it's the most important thing in the world. What gives? Four years ago they acted like it didn't matter at all, and in fact, trashed a veteran who served his country honorably. Why do they suddenly care so much about military service? Do you think if the left played by the right's play book, we'd have ads for the "POWS for truth" claiming McCain sang to his captors?

  1. Hanoi John Kerry was a faux war hero who fabricated Purple Hearts.  McCain is the real deal.  McCain had azz pimples with more time in country than Kerrys 2 and a half months.

  2. This is standard procedure for the Republicans. When they have a decorated vet up against someone who didn't serve (Dole v Clinton for example), they play it up. When their candidate is the one who didn't serve and the Democrat is a vet (Bush v Gore and Kerry), then it is no longer an issue. The hypocrisy is well-known and no longer surprising.

  3. Well, North Vietnam likes him, they gave him a war memorial for winning the war for them,,,lol! Kerry threw those 'decorations' away...

Yes,<----We cared,  the right has been successful in keeping the left from making Iraq  into another Vietnam,,...

  4. Yes, Kerry was a traitor though. That's the difference!

  5. You are supposed to be asking questions here, no ranting.  Typical of the libs - *****, *****, *****!!!

  6. Yes, John Kerry BETRAYED his brothers in arms, then had the audacity to use his service as a selling point.

"John F. Kerry, reporting for duty"

    Gimme a break.

  7. Nobody has belittled Kerry's service, we despise the fact that he betrayed his fellow veterans by testifying against them and pinning atrocities on them that were in no uncertain terms lies and slanderous...

John Kerry served this country and for that I am grateful. However, to then stab your fellow Naval officers in the back as he did is beyond disgraceful.

It's seperate. He served and for that, be proud. However, he then basically spit on his service...

I would be more curious to know how many citizens supported Kerry WHILE he served as a "baby killer"... I guess however, since he's turned his back on his service, that is why the left adored him.

And as for McCain, he proudly served and suffered for his country. He never recanted what he did and for that he deserves great respect.

ADD**** HEY, Skater...-why not include ALL the earmark spending tacked onto those "military" bills you listed? It's not as simple as "it would have given them adequate rest between deployments....", it probably included $1 billion in protection for an endangered species of Salmon, $5 million for new toilets in the White House, and whatever other outrageous pork they always tack on, and McCain has NO problem telling you straight that yes, he votes "No" on those bills BECAUSE they include so much pork. We complain about our defecit, yet the left always loves to throw in the face of the right how "McCain voted AGAINST our troops!! See, see??!!!" When in reality he's voting against wasteful spending (talk about CHANGE!).

  8. Thats politics for yah

  9. It is an irony that they pull such BS!

"Yes, Kerry was a traitor though. That's the difference"

Kerry was a traitor! And how was that? He served in Vietnam, has 2 Purple Hearts and a Silver Star! I met the person who was pulled out of the water by Kerry in Concord while Kerry was running, and at UNH. Why don't you ask HIM about Kerry. He was there!

He was against the war, especially one based on a lie, jut like Iraq! People were spitting on vets and calling them baby killers! I bet you are part of that crowd! I was in Vietnam, and I bet you don't know a butt from a barrel!

I'd love to see you on a Swift Boat for just 1 day. Their JOB was to draw enemy fire!

  10. Yes

We cared about it then, just as we care about  it now.

But military service is not the whole of a candidate.

Kerry also went with the flow of the times & bashed his country when he got back to his states.

And while military experience is something we all should care about, it all boils down to what the candidate's policies are & who the voter feels has the best policies.

  11. Yes. Kerry is a phoney.

  12. Nope. Here's McCain's voting record concerning bills that affect military service.

September 2007: McCain voted against the Webb amendment calling for adequate troop rest between deployments.

In mid 2007, Senator Reid noted that McCain missed 10 of the past 14 votes on Iraq.

April 2006:  McCain was one of only 13 Senators to vote against $430,000,000 for the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans. He was being a "maverick".

March 2006:  McCain voted against increasing Veterans medical services funding by $1.5 billion in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes.

  13. You are correct.  Their hypocrisy knows no bounds on many issues, but especially their cheering for a history of military service only when it pertains to one of their own.  Yes, McCain was a war hero 30 years ago for which we all should admire his bravery and stamina.  However, he has been in government for almost 30 years and has proved to have terrible judgment on most of the vital issues that confronted our nation.  This fact produces one major flaw in his candidacy:  A POW history does not qualify a person to be President of the United States.

  14. The only thing Kerry didn't do was give Hanoi Jane a liplock on the white house steps.
