  1. Ask the citizens of San Bernadino, California, who wound up with an entire train load of trona (a dense, powdery, heavy substance ) in their back yard a few years back.

    The problem?  An engineer making his second solo trip after an "accelerated" promotion program.  He blew it at the top of the hill and never had a chance.

    Conductor and three civilians dead, including the fire that was caused by a ruptured pipeline during clean up operations.

    The carriers can cram as much information into someones' head in as short a time possible, if they wish, but lack of experience can never be duplicated in a classroom or simulator.
