  1. Doubt it,  didn't hepl the cause either way. I've been watching em both.

    Go Celtics!

  2. The SCP got its best ratings since the lockout (and beat the Tampa 04 ratings also)... and it beat LAST YEARS NBA ratings! I highly doubt it can beat  this years... with LA and Boston in it! BUT, things are looking good for hockey! They are back to previous levels for TV and TIX before the lockout and can see no end to their growth. You may hate BETTMAN... but there is a reason the Salary Cap raises every year... thats cause of greater revenue league wide for the NHL! IMO... it is only the beginning.

  3. i STRONGLY doubt that. hockey doesn't do great in the ratings department. nba doesn't do as well as they did but with the celts vs the devil lakers they're probably alot higher than past yrs.

  4. Gotta wait until the Finals are over to see the overall results. I don't think there are as many people watching the first three games as they do from games four to seven.

  5. NBA peaked out at around 9 million at one time, while the NHL was 7 million viewers. I know the NHL including US and Canada was a total of 10.5 million viewers at one time, which is most likely more than the NBA totals, including Canada.

I expected the NBA to be around 15 million viewers(at one time), but it's not even close.

I'd like to see what the NBA finals ratings would be if it was Golden State vs Toronto, which is basically how the NHL was the previous 2 years.

  6. im going to say no, but in my book, it should have gotten better ratings

  7. I don't have numbers, but in Detroit, the Red Wings outdrew the Pistons on one of the nights when they both played.  Overall, they did not do better in the ratings than the NBA.

  8. no

  9. No.  The NHL saw decent ratings, but still trails the NBA by quite a bit.

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals got a rating of 4.4 from Nielsen.  That was the peak.

The NBA Finals are drawing an average rating of 9.0 so far.

  10. wishful thinking .. but it's good to be optimistic about the popularity of our game

  11. BOOM! I don't think so!

  12. I highly doubt it. The semifinals of the nba had better ratings than the stanley cup finals(in the US)

  13. No...this questioneer is 'Yourmom' (the user)

  14. LOL no.   Nobody watches hockey on TV.

  15. In Canada, definitely. In the US, not a chance.
