Bob Bar's Vice Presidential running mate says the following.

*The war on drugs is a failure- this is one of the biggest wastes of taxpayer money. Let's start with legalization of medical marijuana- this is a states' rights issue. The federal government has no constitutional right to interfere in this issue versus states that have approved the use of medical marijuana by individuals.

  1. Again, it shows the reason why the Libertarian party is so small, relatively speaking.  Their priorities are not in order.  They're more concerned about legalizing marijuana and put that ahead of the economy and national defense.  Sorry, but the war on drugs is working but its just something that will always be ongoing.

  2. The War on Drugs is nothing more than Prohibition writ large.  Banning alcohol didn't work, that is why the ban was repealed, banning marijuana was only done so the Prohibition Cops could keep their jobs.  The cost in police man hours, court and incarceration costs, and the lost tax revenue that would gained if it were legal subject to the same restrictions as alcohol, not to mention the cost in ruined lives of people who might otherwise have gone on to become productive members of society, so far outweighs any benefits that it beggars description.

  3. Drug use is down, drug violence is down. Sounds like we are winning.
