  1. In my opinion this was blown way too far out of proportion. I think the Packers handled this the best, and I no longer have the same respect I used to for Brett Favre. He showed the world he's nothing more than a selfish drama queen.

I think the Packers did the right thing, they moved on once Favre retired and made Aaron Rodgers their starting QB, because they had to move on as a team and organization. Then Favre comes back into the picture and tries to act like the Packers had wronged him by not automatically handing him the starting job, which, in all respects, he could have won easily. But when the Packers offered Favre $25 million to stay retired, thats when I realized that when Brett Favre talked about not feeling welcome that it was true, the Packers were ready to move on and Favre didnt want to stop playing but felt forced to.

Ted Thompson and Brett Favre did considerable damage to their reputations and its going to take a lot for them to win fans' respect, although for Favre, a living Green Bay legend, that's definitley not the way you want to go out of a place that you gave so much for and the people in turn elevated you to God-like status.

  2. I've been a Packer fan my whole life, and will always continue to be a fan, however, I am very embarassed by the management of the team.  The Packers handled this poorly from the beginning, and Ted Thompson, Mike McCarthy, and Mark Murphy should all be fired for their p**s poor management of the situation. I will cheer for my team this season, but with a certain degree of sadness and anger for the management

  3. I believe it was right for the Packers to say they were moving forward with Aaron Rodgers.  He's been waiting for his turn to be the starting QB.  It's been far too long for him to get in there.  He's wasting his life away on the bench.  He needs to start, to show the team what he can do.  To let things continue, to let Favre be the starter, AFTER retiring, would be disheartening.  It would be WRONG!  I believe that Favre should have come back, not caring who he played for.  He knew the problems he could create by wanting to be on the Packers.  He wasn't giving Aaron any consideration.  He was thinking of his greatness on the field, and thinking of himself.  In my opinion, Brett did not act responsibly.  The Packers needed to move on without him, and they did.  Now he is with the Jets.  I applaud the Packers for their decision, and i am not very happy with Favre.  He's the greatest QB to ever play the game, but this is going to put a blemish on his career.  It will also turn people off.  Yes, retirement is a big decision.  You think "Yeah, i've given it my all.  My 38 year old body can't take training camp, 4 preseason games, and a 19 game season, if possible.  I need to hang up the pads."  Then, after retirement, you get an itch, and you wanna come back.  But you gotta realize that you cannot unseat the new starting QB, the one the team has given the job to, the one who was waiting all that time since being drafted.  You get frustrated, and you start making this a media circus.  It wasn't good for the NFL, and i'm sure Roger Goodell wasn't happy.

May Brett have good luck with the Jets.  He is still a great QB, but he was not acting right in this situation.

  4. Most people think so.  I do however think the Packers did treat Favre wrong.  I have been a Packers fan since 1990, I'm also a Favre fan and a fan of the New York Jets. I think they did the right thing.  If Favre stayed in Green Bay,it would have only gotten worse.  I think Favre went to a team that really needed him.  I think he will do well with the Jets.

  5. Jets look very good!!

  6. I love Brett Favre. I hope he does really well for the Jets. I'm not happy with the way things were handled. I would have loved to have Favre back for another year. I'm not happy with Packers powers that be. I mean, stack up Favre's stats and put them against unproven Rodger's. It's atrocious. Favre retired, he changed his mind, he gets welcomed back with open arms. Rodgers goes back to the kiddie table for one more year.

My admiration for Brett will never change, he wants to play-he's meant a lot to my Packer viewing years. I'm a Green Bay native and I grew up with Favre and the Pack since Junior High.

I am not happy with McCarthy or Thompson, I'm upset with them.

I will support my Pack no matter what, wish Favre was here and not in New York. I do really hope he does well for them...I think he will.

I will support my packers through their season, but I'll be angry.

  7. Lets face it. Brett finally decided to retire. But like all the seasons before..oh wait a minute. that was when he was going to retire....no he wasn't  going to retire.Wait he is....The Packs never could depend on him in the off season cause he wanted the attention to be all on him whether he was going to retire or not. So he did it. So now the Packs had a sign of relief. They knew what was going to happen now for the next season. They are going to train and work with a new Quarterback. But then wham Brett has no attention on his self so what not better to do is to come out of retirement. So the Packs are back where they have been all these years before. Wanting to know what Brett has on his mind. But this time I think they fixed the problem. They got rid of him. Finally Peace in training camp after all these years.

  8. BOTH SIDES LOOK BAD!

  9. yes, many fans hate Brett now

  10. Brett Favre is a young man who wants to continue at his profession for one more year.  He wants to compete and enjoy his life. It is none of our business how things "went sour', it's his life and the Packers' decision, I mean he is getting worse press than OJ after killing his wife, this is a joke, let him play and compete until he wants to stop for good or nobody wants him.  he's a quarterback, not some kind of messiah.

  11. Of course. Neither side handled this well at all.

  12. Yes...........Packers did good. Favre messed up. Rick C hit it right on the head. I agree 100% with him.

  13. yea i dunno if its really gb but their stupid as coach mccarthy is an idiot. i hope rodgers gets hurt like always or does really horrible so it come back to byte them, in the *** and maybe favre will make it to the championship
