Did the xbox 360 used to have a failure rate of 33 percent and if so what is it now?

my xbox fanboy friend wont believe it had a 33 percent failure rate and no matter what he reads off people saying they have a 360 and it keeps over heating he keeps saying its fake so i just want to no is it real or not?

It used to be around 30%. But it's said to now be from 10% - 16%

I know the older first gen 360 had overheating problems due to poor cooling but the new model (60gb) has a new type of heat-sink and I think motherboard SUPPOSEDLY meant to make it run cooler. You be the judge, maybe the new difference makes it run cooler. Check out the link. Feel free to ask more questions.
