  1. Posters, don't be quick to judge people that file bankruptcy.

Most of it is due to medical reasons, not ill responsibility.

And taxpayers has nothing to to with someones bankruptcy.

Don't feel sorry for the credit card companies they are the biggest crooks of any loan institution there is, they rip people off unmercifully.

And congress that voted to make it harder on people should be ashamed of themselves.

I was working and had A-1 credit score, I had to have open heart surgery, have a  mechanical valve put in my heart,

I had no medical coverage afterwards because I couldn't work, I went on disability and they make you wait 2 years to get medicare if you are not 65 years old, now no medical coverage and doctor bills and medicine, beside the regular bills I had before this happen,

so, I had to file or I would not have been able to keep my home.

Does this make sense if you go out on disability and need medical care they make you wait 2 years, if they would have covered me immediately I wouldn't have had to file bankruptcy.

  2. Yes, the law was changed to protect credit card companies and banks. They, of all institutions, do not need the help of our government but they do contribute lots of money to the best congress money can buy.

  3. Yeah, but Bear Stearns gets a free pass.

  4. Sorry Mr. Know It All but how does the FDIC come into play when someone declares bankruptcy? Credit Card companies(not covered by FDIC) are the ones that take the biggest hit because they continue to give people more than enough rope to hang themselves.

  5. The Credit Card companies (banks, lending institution lobbyists) now benefit because there are strict regulations in paying them back.  It's harder to retire that debt.

Just stop using credit cards in protest.

Don't let these people make you feel guilty.  The large corporations file all the time as a matter of course in doing business.

  6. Take responsibility for your own personal finances. You know, it is the tax payer that will ultimately pay your bills, via FDIC, etc.,  when you go bankrupt.

Why should we pay your bills?

  7. Yes, the laws concerning bankruptcy have been changed, and yes filing has been made harder.

Another instance of a congress bought and paid for by business lobbies ignoring the well being of the individual and the agenda of the people.

This has been a really terrible eight years for the middle class in America. We see librarians who are cowed by the government into telling them what we read and what information we search for, hard working folks losing homes because they believed the promises of predatory lenders, blue collar folks losing jobs at an appalling rate because of free trade agreements, and ordinary travel curtailed by many who can no longer fill the gas tank without over drafting the debit card.

    Throw the bums out!!!

  8. I agree with most everybody here but am twice as pizzed. stinking u.s. congress full of two-bit, arrogant lawyers are the greatest terrorists we face. throw the bums out and demand a new recall rule!

fumigate the Capitol and put out plenty of D-Con. That evil bunch have bamboozled us into a GD depression. Lies, lies and more lies. Trust nobody running for any GD political office.

  9. and blame congress for deregulating banks..
