  1. I have not heard if they have decided on a final burial place. But I think   fans will always remember Barbaro. He was a great horse and will be remembered for years to come. He was the 2006 Kentucky Derby winner by the largest margin in KD history.  People still remember Seabiscuit, Ruffian, Secretariat and Seattle Slew. Great horses will last the length of time. .

  2. You'd think that they would be honored to have him at Churchill or KHP - glad they didn't mess around with Red Rum like that!

  3. This is from Wikipedia.  It's not the best source, but it could answer some questions.

Barbaro was cremated shortly after he was euthanized. It is still unclear where his ashes will reside. Some options include the Kentucky Derby Museum located on the grounds of Churchill Downs, where he won the 2006 Kentucky Derby, the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky., and the Jacksons' Lael Farm, just a few miles away from the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center.[22]

Barbaro is being memorialized by a Florida race track.[23] He also inspired a large anonymous donation to the New Bolton Center establishing the Barbaro Fund, to aid the treatment and care of large animals.

  4. Not that I know of.  Last I've heard, they were still trying to get a museum to celebrate the area horses and once they do, he will rest there.  If that falls through, he may go to KY horse park or the Kentucky Derby Museum.  For now, he's staying with the Jacksons.

That's kind of disappointing... the Jacksons were trying to decide on a place nearby but where fans could visit him...  but by the time they finally decide where he's going, some fans will already have forgotten him...  not the true fans, but I'm sure he would have gotten a lot more visitors in February than he's gonna get in the first month that he's finally placed somewhere.  I guess that's ok though...  there will be more room for me and the other true fans
