  1. Neanderthal was a missing link but it turned out it was not an ancestor.  Zinjanthropus (Paranthropus Boisei) was a missing link but was also not an ancestor.  Habilis was a missing link but is also probably not an ancestor.  Java Man, him too.  There are clearly missing links in the human evolution and as pointed out there are a chain of them.  The problem is identifying them with the limited fossil evidence.   Everyone wants to find one so whenever anyone finds something close they argue for it being a missing link.  I suspect that Sahelanthropus, Homo rudolphensis, Homo heidelbergensis, Homo ergaster and probably a few others were links in that they later evolved into humans.  It is really impossible to be sure at this point.

  2. Yes they did find the missing link.  He can be found on just about every NBA , NHL and NFL team.

  3. Yes, found 1976

  4. I have a friend who looks just like "number four from the end" on the Evolutionary Chart. Does that help?

  5. There's not one missing link. We don't have a complete chain from the common simian ancestor up to us, so there are multiple missing links. Also as soon as we find one, it's not missing anymore. :)

There is also a heated debate among the scientific community about when we stopped being simians and started being humans. Homo habilis? Homo neandertalus? Homo erectus? Which one is human?

  6. Its still missing.

  7. we are here so what is missing?  The human is what evolution made him/her.

  8. The tree from which modern human has evolved has multiple links and they were many different sub-species in our ancestors, so we are not really sure how many missing links we look after, but since it is very difficult to even look for mammals remains, it is even more difficult to find remains from the H.O.M.O family up to ours.
