Question:

Did they find the body of Jesus, and was he buried with his son?

I heard that archaeologists claim to have found his body and the body of his son. Anyone know the details? I was also wondering if he really had a daughter named Sarah, who moved to France and carried on his bloodline after his death.

Jesus was basically a rabbi, and in that day and age a rabbi needed to be married if he wanted to be taken seriously, so Jesus might have been married.

  1. no they did not find Jesus' tomb/ossuary.  this site was actually found about 20 years ago and the furor it created rather quickly died.  it is being re-opened by a different organization.  but it can not be Jesus' tomb, Jesus rose again from the grave alive and in bodily form.  the bones that they have can be studied for forensic evidence to see if the cause if death was cruxifiction (if Christ didn't rise from the dead) and none of the scientists will talk about that because ther is no evidence for it.  also Jesus and mary were both very common names for that time and jerusalem was a rather large city easily able to contain several people with those names.  Jesus was not an actual official rabbi but he was considered a teacher and a rabbi by many, this would have given him the right to have it written on his tomb-it would be expected, but there is no such title on the ossuaries that were found.  one of the ossuaries has the name judah on it as well so possibly jesus' son but that is not possibly Jesus christ's son and sarah is fictional .  i totally believe that a man named jesus and a woman named mary could have been married or been relatives and had children or nieces and nephews or something but this tomb has nothing to do with Jesus Christ the Lord biblically(my personal beliefs) Jesus never married, or had kids.  He didn't sleep with anyone in His life.  He died at the age of 33 by cruxifiction and rose again on the third day and 40 days later ascended to heaven.

  2. none of the above

  3. I always wondered who read those crazy magazines....nice to meet you. :)

  4. This was recently featured in a documentary called "The Lost Tomb of Jesus". It was quite interesting, but they did have to make quite a few leaps and assumptions to make this claim.

The daughter named Sarah comes from claims made within the "Da Vinci Code", which is a fabulous book if you haven't read it. It's completely fiction but it's a great read!

  5. Let's get this straight...

No archeologist found Jesus' body, because He raised from the dead in the resurrection, body and all.  There was no body in the tomb because Mary Magdeline looked for it but could not find it.

Secondly, Christ was crucified at age 33, He did not marry, He did not have children, so He certainly could not be "buried" with his "son".

Jesus is the Son of God,  not a "rabbi", as you are describing.  But He was a Rabbi, meaning a "Teacher", and was called so by His disciples.

  6. This has been a decades long heated debate, and I doubt I'll live long enough to hear the real truth.

  7. Jesus was resurrected.  His body couldn't have been found.

It is very likely though that he was married and had children.  It's a commandment to do so and he followed all commandments.

  8. The archaeologists claim to have provocative evidence that they have found the family tomb of Jesus, but they never claim to have found His body. As far as I know, there is no credible evidence to support the notion that Jesus either married or had children. There is some anecdotal evidence, but that's not the same thing. The Bible doesn't mention that Jesus was actually inititated into the profession of being a Rabbi, though He is referred to as Rabbi at least once. But as someone already pointed out, that was not necessarily an official title. Rabbi means teacher, or something close.

I'm an archaeologist, and I personally was not convinced after watching that special that they had found a tomb connected to Jesus or His family. I do not believe the methodology they used was stringent enough. Just my opinion though.

  9. Someone that young, would not

have been a Rabbi. He was just

passing on his knowledge. I don't

know why people think it would be

strange for him to not have had any

    children. Plenty of people, even

today, have not had children by 33.

  10. No

  11. no jesus walk out of his grave.

  12. No, Jesus' body has not been found and he did not have a son.  Jesus rose from the dead and is now sitting at the right hand of God.  No mortal will be able to find him on the earth.  Jesus never married and never had any children.  Jesus wasn't any ordinary rabbi, he is a supreme being that knows everything.  Nothing can compare to him.  All of this information is in the Bible, and everything that is in the Bible is completely true.

  13. They found OSSUARIES, not bones or bodies.  I say even they are fake.

  14. Nope..

    False alarm.
