  1. It hasn't found water yet but it has found ice. The ice has a different effect though,  instead of melting into a liquid like here on earth, it turn straight into vapor on Mars. Which probably suggest that the ice isn't frozen H2O but frozen CO2 instead, and since the Martian atmosphere is mostly Carbon Dioxide, it makes sense. NASA is still waiting for the actual tests on those samples to come back to find out exactly what the ice composition is. Chances of it finding liquid water is rare though. Since the surface temperature on Mars vary from about −220 degrees F to about 68 degrees F, though still possible to find it somewhere underground, there's probably small chance of it actually finding liquid water on the planet seeing how much colder the atmosphere tends to be.

  2. The mission is definitely NOT a failure. Water ice was found only days into the mission. I guess your question is an epic failure.

  3. Yes. Jebus.. do a google search.

  4. The purpose of the mission was to learn more about Mars, not to find water.  And the fact that water has not been found doesn't mean there's not any, just that there's not any (or not much) in the area where they landed.  The lack of water means that most of the life forms on earth can't live there, but we already knew that from the low temperature.

  5. Yes, in the form of ice.

  6. No. Water has not been found on Mars.

But they have found cliffs and sort of rift valleys there which give Evidence for water.

But there is no firm proof.
