  1. They kick far too much in rugby today per se. I think they should reduce points for kicking, like one for a penalty and conversion and two for a drop goal. Then England would have to win their matches by actually getting over the try line instead of relying on Johnny Wilkinson to win every match for them.

  2. Ok to be fair, kicking fairs a BIG part of northern hemisphere teams.  It's just part of their style just like the southern hemisphere teams tend to pass and run more.

That aside, when teams have top level defenses kicking helps break down the line and present more options offensively.  Plus sometimes it can get exciting, not with long punts necessarily, but with a good garryowen or even more fun a cross kick for the wings can make things exciting

  3. I don't think there was really too much, certainly not more so than any other WC.

There was a lot of chip and chase nonsense but only because the defence was up so quick or completely offside !

But best not complain, least I be called a moaning, angry, bitter Kiwi . . . mmm . . .those refs did a really fine job. That chap Barnes is absolutely top shelve.

Haven't really seen the next generation of offense to counter rush and sliding defense - the chip kick seems to be a default approach for many teams with out the coaching quality, speed, or skill sets to do anything else.

  4. Hence the term 'Kick & Clap'. Way too much kicking only a couple of games held my attention for more than 5 minutes, the best game by a mile was the France v Argentina 3rd place play-off

  5. Judging by the amount Jonny Wilkinson missed during the World Cup, I don't think we were relying on him at all...I think the problem with England was the lack of organisation in the backs for attacking plays...

I didn't really notice the kicking...I'm guessing that means that i didn't think there was too much at all...

  6. I think they did, they just kicked and passed how boring it was i had to stop watching it.

  7. They did. But that's how the game in my opinion, has changed for the worst in the modern day.

  8. If defences are so on top..and so easy to organise - if done in the right way.. that teams like georgia can stop teams like ireland.then rugby doesn't have much of a future going forward..and they may as well rename it "stalemate".

  9. we dont rely on him we have much better players its just hes good and its easier for him to boot it in 20 secs than run it in 2 mins
