The proposed performance back in the 1980's has , possibly, only began to to be achieved in 2007.  It's hard to evaluate due to security classification , but systems are being installed on the Collins class of submarine.  How well they work???  I think the critics will never be satisfied, but they are also the least informed.  Maybe we'll know in 30 more years.
