  1. Prior to appearing in Magnum, he was a commercial actor for Revlon(?) advertising a brand of after-shave. This was in the mid 70's.

  2. Actually that was Cosmo Kramer.

  3. According to some searching, Tom Selleck appeared in a billboard advertisement as The Marlboro Man.  I believe I remember that.  He was also an option to play Indiana Jones.

  4. No. The following have been 'Malboro Men'.

Actor and author William Thourlby is said to have been the first Marlboro Man. The models who portrayed the Marlboro Man were New York Giants Quarterback Charley Conerly, New York Giants Defensive Back Jim Patton, Darrell Winfield, d**k Hammer, Brad Johnson, Bill Dutra, Dean Myers, Robert Norris, Wayne McLaren, David McLean, Buster Hobbs and Tom Mattox. Two of them, McLaren and McLean, died of lung cancer.

George Lazenby (who played James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service) was the European Marlboro Man.

Tom Selleck did the voice over for the 1993 AT&T ad campaigns titled "You Will." These ads had a futuristic feel, and posed the question of, "What if you had the technology to ______ ? Well, you will ... with AT&T." As of December 30, 2007, he began doing commercial voice-overs for Florida orange juice, a move that one writer quipped would have a "magnum" impact on sales (referring to the actor's role in Magnum, P.I).

  5. Yes he did; print ads in magazines.  I've seen a few personally.
