Did u ever get a phone call and get hung up on right when you pick up?

i think its telemarketers trying to mess with me...and this happens every couple of hrs! what the h**l is that?

Well what happens, is a computer initializes a call (dials your number), then there is a delay, and then finally someone talks to you pronouncing your name completely wrong, then I hang up on them.

It takes 3 seconds before you actually hear them talk, because I guess the computer generated call takes time to be transfered.

If the phone is only ringing one time and then when you answer you have dial tone, you may have a fault on your phone line that needs to be repaired.  If the problem occurs more when it rains, they it most definately is some sort of slight short or ground on the line.
