The hawk could have been a captive bird accidentally got loose and did not realise there was a threat. It may have been lost and have never seen anything like it in it's life, stunned by what was happening

This incident simply confirmed all the stereotypes of golf idiots.  They are self-absorbed, arrogant pricks who obsess over the silly game they insist is a sport.  The pros are not athletes, rather, they were fortunate enough to have the time and money to spend their formative years on the golf course.  The Scottish founders of golf imagined a game that was part of the natural surroundings; even the rules require the players to play the ball regardless of where it lies.  Sand, rough, trees - nature is always one of the players in the competition.  

The hawk's fatal day was when he mistook the golf course for a natural habitat.  Unfortunately, the hawk was the only truly natural thing on that course.

Trip Isen(HOLE) made multiple malicious attemps to kill. Hawks are silent by nature. Most likely there was a nest nearby for it to make noise.

Trip Isen(hole) has anger issues and if he does that to a bird..what is he doing to his children behind closed doors?

First of all, the bird wasn't endangered, it was protected because it was a migratory bird.

Trip Isenhour  was charged Wednesday with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird.

The Humane Society wants the PGA to take some sort of action against Isenhour.

You people ought to pick up  a paper and read sometime, you might get better acquainted with the facts

He claims that he was just trying to scare the hawk away.... YA RIGHT.  This guy hit about a dozen balls at the hawk before finally hitting it.  If he was just trying to scare it away, he should have quit after about 2.  He was obviously trying to do harm to the animal.  His intent is clear.  This guy deserve to have to go to jail for awhile, attend anger management classes, and volunteer with PETA.

It's a bad mark on an otherwise great game. Golf is a game where the impact you leave on the course and nature should be very little. You take divots, and cut the grass, etc, but you aren't supposed to harm nature. It's even against the rules to break branches and living shrubbery to improve your swing or lie. it's a natural game and what he did, even to scare it, was pretty unprofessional. The odds he would hit the hawk were pretty slim, but it shows that you have to think about those things before you act.

finally someone here who isn't mourning the d@m bird!  yes, he killed the bird.  it wasn't the best choice he coulda made, but it's not that big of a deal.

The particular hawk is an endangered species, should have been left alone.

I'm sure the golfer was only trying to hit it to scare it off, but it was extremely stupid of him.
