  1. Pork is nothing.

Pork is less than 0.1% of the entire budget.

Actually, pork spending means money spent locally? Sounds better than the federal g overnment getting it and spending it elsewhere. Dont beat it not being stolen in the first place tho.

The big problem, is Bush doubled Clintons healthcare spending. Bush then went and added 20 billion to Clintons welfare spending. Ended up adding 33% to the entire budget - about a trillion dollars (or 1,000 billion).

Federal budget in 1990, about $1,000 Billion.

Federal budget in 2008, about $3,000 Billion.

Obama, or McCain will raise it again, instead of reduce it back to 1990 levels (which is what is NEEDED!). Imagine what that $2,000 Billion back into the economy. $2,000 Billion never stolen at gunpoint in the first place from the citizens. That is about $13,000.00 more in the pocket of each worker in america, each year.

  2. I agree but you have both parties pandering to the public.  They both are attempting to bribe the public and gather their allegiance by promising to give them things.  Remember, government creates nothing. It is like a cancer that only grows.  When you become dependent on government they control you.  When you rob "tax" one group to give to another, you only create class division and hate.  PS.That is also why our companies are going off shore.  Tax and regulate them too much and they just leave.  In today's world, goods can be made anywhere and shipped back.  The problem is, in the end, a significant portion of what use to be the manufacturing middle class, will no longer have jobs and be able to afford to buy anything.

  3. Look here, the Senate pork list for 2008.  Please note how much McCain got vs. what Obama got.  That should tell you something about who is going to show some fiscal restraint in the upcoming term.

  4. Yes and that includes war and stealing, as well

  5. That's is also why they were thrown out. Now, the lying liberals lackey Democrats are doing the same thing. That is why they have a lower approval rating than Bush.

  6. If Republicans approved 14,000 pork projects. I can only imagine that the Dem's would have approved 28,000 pork projects. If you think the Dem's would want to spend less you must be crazy . The Dem's have been in control for the last 4 years they promised to get the troop's out of Iraq.  there still in Iraq. Maybe we need national health care that would sure lower taxes. We need a lot less government. Even at there best I can barley tolerate them. We need more Lib's or independents in government someone that wants a better place to live with less dumb laws.ms

  7. Citizens Against Public Waste is where I recommend you research for the truth that Dems overspend like drunken sailors.

The Dems approved a Tea Pot Museum in Carolina and the Dems spend five times more than Repubs.

  8. Did you know the DEMOCRATIC congress in 1993 approved a bill to tax old peoples social security checks. Pork or starvation which to you is better

  9. Yes.  This is just one of the many areas where the Republican party has lost all credibility. Small government rhetoric is just a tool to demonize any effort to make life better for the poorest of the poor. When it comes to their wealthy donors and interests they spent like there's no tomorrow effectively selling out American children's future to China and other foreign nations. Republicans used to call Democrats tax and spent, it seems they prefer borrow and spent and borrow and borrow...

In the United States, the wealthiest country in the world, 36 million Americans live in poverty - earning less than $20,650 for a family of four in 2007. Another one in six Americans struggle to make ends meet on incomes between 100% and 200% of poverty ( $20,650 to about $40,000 for a family of four). More than 12 million American children grow up in impoverished homes. When compared with 20 other wealthy nations on measures of health, safety and relative poverty, America's children fare amongst the worst.

  10. Dont even get me started on Pork.  And the Dems outspend Repubs 8-1.

Check out Citizens Against Public Waste before you embarrass the Dems with those statements, cause I can prove you wrong.

  11. I didn't know how much. I just knew it was a lot. When you have a president in office that doesn't veto, then you have a problem with Pork. I have said it until I'm tired of hearing myself say it. That's the reason I don't want to vote republican this time even tho I like McCain and even tho the Democrats fell in line for their share of the bacon as well. Bush's politics is bribery period. He got congress in his pocket by not vetoing legislature so the senator could take billions home to their state and to their special interests. He got the American people pacified by giving them government checks not once but twice even tho it was not free money because it simply goes on top of the national debt that we can no longer pay off. Bush wants to be one-up on his dad but really doesn't know how to be an effective president like his dad was. Look up National Debt and see what the last 3 republican presidents did to the debt. Clinton actually stopped it from rising while in office for a while, then Bush esculated it again.

  12. Doesn't bother me at all. Normally, that money goes to good causes like cancer centers and the like. A few oddball projects are approved every year, but like I said it doesn't bother me.
