  1. Some of both. Plus, the Prius is a reliable, nice looking car!

  2. Primarily for environmental reasons.  I'm passionate about global warming and reducing human greenhouse gas emissions, but felt like a hypocrite driving around in a car that got 20-25 mpg (though I drove as little as possible).  As soon as I could afford it, I bought a Prius.

Lower fuel prices is a bonus, but it will take a long time (5-10 years) for my gas savings to make up for the extra cost of buying a hybrid over a similar regular car.

By the way, that whole Hummer/Prius "Dust to Dust" comparison is bogus.  Click the following link if you want to see it debunked.

  3. - Saving the environment

    - Spending less on gas

    - Priority parking ( I work for canon and because of their policy of saving the environment anyone who drives a hybrid, gets to reserved parking)

    - Drive in HOV lanes on the highways.

    - Federal tax benefits

    - State tax benefits (CT, NY, CA, OR etc)

  4. Camry Hybrid for the Environment!

  5. I don't have a hybrid, and would not buy any of ones on the market.  They simply do not meet my neads.

  6. I don't own one yet, but am planning on getting a Civic plug in hybrid.

Saving money and gas feels good, but getting commuter lane stickers in California is an undeniable boost to quality of life.

  7. Neither. Because of the massive amount of pollution created when manufacturing the batteries of a hybrid, the total amount impact on the environment is greater for a Toyota Prius than a hummer H2. Funny how that works, huh?

Also unless you are driving about 14,000 miles a year in a hybrid, you really aren't saving any money as compared to a similar sized Toyota gas car. Because you have to factor in that hybrids cost more to buy, cost more for maintenance and the lifespan of a Hybrid isn't as long as a gasoline car. Unless they fix all those factors, I wont ever drive a hybrid.

And actually dude, the debunking of the original story by the environmental wacko group was also debunked.

  8. From my prospective i would buy a bike or hybrid cars because they use less feul and most of the electricity to save the enviornment!

  9. i bought it for the environment! We need to fight back!

  10. I didn't, I bought a bike.
