  1. NO!! world youth day sleep out and mass, should never have been held at randwick racecourse!

just wait until you see the mess at randwick, now they have gone!

its a disgrace, there all pigs!

  2. I went to the WYD Final Mass and it was amazing. I've never been in the presence of such a multi-cultural and wonderful and peaceful group of people.

I really want to go to WYD in Madrid in 2011 and experience all parts of the pilgrimage. I was so pleased when the Pope announced it will be there in Spain.

I really wish i was able to go to the Stations of the Cross. I only watched and it brought tears to my eyes - it was so moving and chilling.

Well on Sunday, I arrived at Central Station at around 6am and started the walk to Randwick Racecourse as the sun was rising. The walk was tiring but so worth it. We got really close to where the Popemobile drove through. So we got to see the Pope close - he was amazing! The final Mass was beautiful - the prayers, the choir, everything about it. Everyone singing the 'Receive the Power' was lovely. The best song. The flying of so many different flags also made the scene beautiful. The happiness didn't stay at the racecourse either. On the way home the pilgrims were funny and charming, despite the long walk to the train station. And can i add some of the Italian pilgrims in my train cabin were mighty fine.

I think WYD really proved that we can break down cultural and language barriers and become united as a community in a peaceful and spiritual way.

  3. The next one will be in Madrid, Spain as announced this morning by the Pope.

I live in Sydney and thought the entire experience was fantastic and soo uplifting, particularly the Stations of the Cross the reenactments. I will definitely go for the next one in Spain which will be in 2011.

  4. I'm from Sydney and I attend a Catholic school. This is one of the biggest mistakes I felt I've made. We were given months to register but I wasn't interested then. After finding out how fun it'd be, it was too late.

God knows when it will be in Sydney again in the future.

To the ones who went, I hope they enjoyed it and our overseas visitors will bring home some priceless memories they had here.

  5. No.

I prefer to stay home and have a nice quiet time instead of going to Sydney and see all the drunken "Christians youth" at night.

    Cheers from Australia.

  6. No, I was quite happy to stay home, thanks.

My friends husband went to protect the pope, he's a police officer.
