I thought maybe it was just me that I thought it was the worst movie I've ever seen and would give it 0 stars. It is racist and disgusting and not enjoyable at all. Is it just me? My friends were asking if I recommend it, and I don't want to say "Don't go see it becasue its the worst movie ever made" if it was actually good according to some people.

  1. I was laughing my *** off the entire movie. I thought zohan is one of sandler's top 5 movies.

  2. I don't know if I would go so far as to say it was the worst movie ever (I can think of worse) but I can't say I enjoyed it very much. It was just overly disgusting. There were some funny parts, but not enough that I would want to see it again. I know my brother liked it though, so I guess if your friends normally like that kind of movie they might too, but if they aren't sure whether or not they want to see it, trust me, they don't.

  3. Wasn't the worst ever, in my opinion that would be Jumper.  but yeah Zohan was really bad.

  4. It something I'll only watch again if its on TV and there's nothing better on.

    It is disgusting and a little too corny for my taste. I enjoyed parts but I'd only recommend it if they had no interest in seeing anything else that's in the cinema

  5. I enjoyed it because Sandler really created a character. He was absolutely hilarious! However, once the film started to open up, telling a story, it became cheesy and sour - like those cheese nibbles you can buy at pubs...

    Take Hancock as another example. A genius of a creation, disaster of a movie.

  6. i didnt think it was the most amazing film adam sandler has ever made but it was pretty funny.. especially when he starts working in the hairdressers lol it cracked me up!!!! it wasn't disgusting it just depends on ur sense of humour .

  7. Regarding that movie;

    You can safely bet money that in movie theaters in Israel, New York, and Los Angeles, there was racuous laughter.  Outsider those Jewish communities though people were like "whah?.... I don't get it......" therein lies Sandler's mistake.  To Arabs and Jews who don't have a stick up their @ss the movie was probably uproarious.  Problem is, it had way, WAY too much subtle humor involving Arab and Israeli culture for comfort.  That is, for wide audiences.

    Someone who has been to Israel, or any Jew in america would have found it funny, specially that bit where he brushed his teeth with Humus, although personally I thought it as a bit criminal but anyway; "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" was, again, made for too narrow an audience.  No one except people who live in or close to Israel, will get the humor regarding the Arabs, because not all of it had well known stereotypes, some of it only the Arabs themselves would have caught.  Same with how it made fun of the Jews for example, that bit about Israeli electronics?  What the h**l was that all about?  I personally didn't catch that.

    Let me answer your question with a counter question; your friends who thought it was good, have they been to Israel, or knew people who have gone by chance?  Odds are Sandler was counting on the fact that many Americans have visited Israel by now, you know, because of Christianity, pilgrimages and all that?  No doubt he was relying on that audience but still, it had too much "exclusive" humor.  That is, being redundant here, humor that only Israelis, many American Jews, as well as Arabs who live near the place would have caught.  Therein lies its failure; the humor may have choked some people with laughter, the ones from Israel I mean, especially those who served in the military, everyone else though is left wondering what the h**l was going on.

    Just some thoughts.
