  1. Do  you mean a lot of blood or a spot of blood?

If you are worried that you cracked open an egg with a developing chick, it wouldn't bleed. There would be a fine web of veins covering the yolk, not blood

If it was a blood spot, it has nothing to do with it being fertile. As the egg goes down the assembly line inside the hen, sometimes a small capillary breaks and a drop of blood ends up inside. It even happens in commercial eggs, but they candle them and remove any because consumers think they are fertile and are squeamish. The hens that lay commercial eggs have never even seen a rooster and their eggs can not be fertile.

Anyway, if there is a blood spot, it just means that the egg is very fresh. By the time the egg is 3 days old, it would have dissipated and you would never know it had been there.

Picking up the eggs every day will not prevent blood spots. Picking up the eggs every day would keep fertile eggs from developing because it would keep the hen from setting on them.
