communicator 440dx i think it worked ok, cobra 180 was excellent and a fidelity 2000 that was rubbish and maxcom something maybe 5e that was rubbish,,,, im gonna get one i havent had one since 1980 how cool yeah good idea nice1

My handle was "smarty basher" before that was "nuts n bolts" ow my days that brings back memories lol

Still use mine have one in the truck a amstrad 901 because i love the pretty lights and a modulator aerial that the base matches the colour of my truck, maxcom in my kitchen and a cobra in my bedroom as well as two hand helds.

i use to talk to people all over the world on them but now just use it to talk to my other half when one of us is out and about.

I very rare DX anymore i think the net with msn and other talk in real time programs killed the CB radio off

no i didn't, but the people who I have spoke to about them, said that they loved them, when they were kids.

maybe I missed out on all the fun.

Yeah i did and i loved it.

It was a maxcom appollo ( i think) and my handle was lucky star.
