The temperatures haven't increased since then, so why all the commotion all of a sudden?

  1. Yes, "Global Warming" was known about 10 years ago, though at that time it was often referred to as the "Greenhouse effect" and scientists didn't know of the magnitude of the problem like they do now.

  2. Sure, and like then I believed that the climate is changing.  I do not agree with the fear tactics being used, it becomes counter productive.

  3. Haha, 90% of what was stated in "an inconvenient truth" has been proven a complete lie. Take a look at the website I am posting. Global warming is caused almost entirely by water vapor, which is almost completely natural, or not man made. Humans actually only contribute by 0.28% to global warming. Gore's scare tactics are just to promote himself and his agenda. Back in the 70's everybody was scared of the "global cooling" and thought that the earth was headed towards another ice age. Global warming is the flavor of the month right now.

Go here for an interesting report compiled of information taken from actual scientists. Not ex vice presidents going through a mid-life crisis.

  4. No.

However, approximately 30 years ago there was serious concern that the Earth was cooling and a "mini" ice age was predicted.

It was difficult to blame humanity for global cooling so there wasn't an opportunity to exert more power over people's lives and make money from it so it quickly lost favor.

Of course, this so-called "global warming" allows much more opportunity for controlling people's lives and make money.

  5. I heard of it 30 years ago.  Then it was called The Greenhouse Effect.  The term Global Warming has been used for well over 10 years and the term Climate Change has been in use for four years.

Just because you didn't hear of it doesn't mean it wasn't important.

  6. global warming is the new pet rock of the millenium. dont worry, as soon as the global warming doesnt warm up to you like a pet rock, it will lose its appeal.

  7. Yes, 10 years ago global warming was (and still is) a issue. The only difference between then and now is that people are actually starting to listen and take action (it's about time in my opinon).

And my friend, you are wrong about the temperature not increasing since then. It HAS and will continue too if something is not done.

If this is a topic that really interests you then I suggest watching this if you already have not.

'The Inconvenient Truth' - SEE HOW MUCH WE HAVE TO LOSE DUE TO GLOBAL WARMING AND OUR OWN STUPIDITY!!

  8. I agree the eath's climate is  in a state of constant change and when man gets involved is when it gets worse.  the arrogance of us to think we can manage a habitat and make changes we think will fix a problem.

  9. Global Warming, or more like climate change, has been an issue since the late 60's, since the impacts of the Industrial Revolution.

I can't believe how many people don't look at the science of it. Perhaps those people don't worry because they won't live through the times when they will be mostly impacted.

  10. The term global warming is a misnomer.

You should not expect to walk outside in winter and be able to go swimming.  This is not even close to what would happen.  The temperature will rise by a couple of degrees over the entire planet.  It's an average.  But it's just enough to change weather patterns, climate, and change where food can be grown.

Global climate change has been known about for some time.  It's only now starting to catch on because of the fact the technology is starting to make stuff cheaper and of that movie that Al Gore guy did.

  11. Slow to learn, slow to react, always missing the boat, just slow period, LIBERALS.

  12. Yes, I had heard of global warming 10 years ago. And I disagree that temperatures haven't increased. Here in TN we got snow in the winter and rarely got above 93 in summer... now all we get is rain the winter and last summer there was hardly a day that went by where temps were below 93.

  13. yes i did.in my opinion global warming has been going on since the last ice age.if it wasnt 2/3 of north america would still be covered in ice.I  myself enjoy the warmer winters.untill goverments, rich upper class, big investors, music and sports stars go without I say live life to the fullest. However i do believe in keeping the enviroment clean ie,dont throw garbage out the car window, dont pour toxic c**p into land and water ways, recycle, clean up toxic car and factory emissions for better health.

  14. hah i'm eleven so no. but it seams warm today

  15. yes it has since 1990. and i did hear of global warming ten years ago.

  16. Though I don't completely agree with what we've been fed on global warming, I wholeheartedly agree that we're not doing ourselves any favors either. The earth's climate is in constant state of change from colder to warmer. We've had ice ages, mini ice ages, warmings, and mini warmings and it's all a natural event. What's not natural is what we do to the earth and what the earth does back to us. Take the "Dustbowl" for instance. That happened because we farmed the **** out of the plains and then a horrible drought hit at the same time. Just something to think about.

  17. It's true that the planet's been cooling since 1998, which is the second hottest year in recorded history.  The hottest year according to NASA is 1934.

I'm not too happy that we're already into another cooling period.  I was hoping the warming period would last longer.

I really wish we *could* control the climate.
