  1. Monopoly , I deal all the properties at the beginning , so the game won't take forever

  2. Scrabble....well I umm....I don't think I should share my rules for playing scrabble ;;)

  3. Risk, we made it so as we can retreat out of a country if you feel like you're outnumbered or haven't got a chance of winning, and we made it that you can leave territories unoccupied. And instead of having to occupy whole continents to earn troops, we just choose a capital that needs to be taken before someone can get the troop income off that continent.

  4. In monopoly we put all fees, income tax, luxury tax, etc in the middle for however lands on Free Parking.

  5. Monopoly, of course I would play it by myself so I would always get the best properties, but gosh doesn't it just mirror real life. Rich people always make up their own rules and cheat horribly to rip people out of everything.

  6. house rules often make games better

  7. My daughter and I play Scrabble using our own rules - for example, we both use a Scrabble dictionary all the time throughout play and look up words as we want to.  We keep a list of all two letter words handy for reference.  Occasionally we play allowing capitalized words just for a change of pace.
