  1. yes, i did.

i did not regret it afterwards.

if the job you are quitting will have anything to do with any future career, i would suggest giving notice. burning bridges is never good, but in my situation, my job was so horrible it was giving me anxiety attacks (which i have never had before). i felt like i had no choice, and i did not need a reference from that job in order to move on career-wise, because i was only hired as seasonal help.

professionally speaking, it is a lot better to give at least 2 weeks notice  before leaving a job than no notice at all, but if you absolutely cannot handle the job, and it won't affect your future, don't worry too much about it.

i guess i should have mentioned that the job i quit without notice is NOT on my resume, so future employees will not find out about it.

  2. Yes I did.  I was unhealthy to stay.  Nothing happened and I never looked back or regreted it either.  A company does not know what jobs you held if you do not put them down on your job application or resume.  They might question the lapse between jobs.  If you are not applying with the IRS, then don't worry about it.  But do be prepared to answer what you did between jobs.  You could say you stayed home to care for a newborn or sick husband, sister, brother, mother, father.  These answers will suffice.

  3. Most people have. The thing is, when an interviewer finds out you quit without notice (and believe me, they will find out...it's once of the most frequent questions when checking references) they don't think "Wow, it must have been a really bad job!" They think, "Wow, this peson must be really irresponsible." So no matter what, it comes back to bite you. It's better to give at least one week's notice, if at all possible.

  4. Yeah, I worked there 3 weekend overnights and realized I was physically afraid of my supervisor, who was the only other person in the building. I had something else lined up, and I have never regretted it.
