Did you ever wish or fantasize (like me) that you started learning martial arts like when you were five?

And you kept it up seriously and by the time you were, let's say, seventeen, you were super bad? What a confidence rush! But you wouldn't pick fights and you would only use it to stand up for the weak and even then, you wouldn't try to cripple the bad guy, but just stop him and teach him a lesson?

  1. I wanted to start when I was 4 but my parents made me wait until I was 9 1/2.  I'm glad I waited.  This way I started when I was old enough to have some sort of idea of what I was doing and why.

Either way...you are never too old for martial arts.  I recently met a man that didn't start Karate until he was in his late twenties and had been paralyzed from the waist down!  He is now a 5th degree black belt and is one of the most amazing martial artists I've ever met.

  2. yes i do i would beat anything up that put me in danger but i cant so i just imagin

  3. absolutely. I have always loved martial arts. It owns what I lack- confidence. Confidence to protect yourself and your girlfriend, health, (better) looks, and humility (there's always your instructor there, ready to whoop on you when your hitting too hard, a constant reminder there can always be someone/something greater)

  4. i did start at 5

  5. Well, I did start learning martial arts when I was like 8 or 9 and got up to a green belt before I quit because I hated it so much.  I was really good at it, though  and won I first place trophy at a tournament one time.  I even got to spar with boys because I had a much better technique than the girls in my class did.  I never go to use my martial arts knowledge on someone else because no one ever wants to fight me lol.  I sort of regret quitting, because in a few more years I could have gotten to a black belt but oh well.

  6. No, because I'm a grownup.

I did box back in high school and college. Kept me in shape. Gave me self-confidence.

  7. Kinda did started when I was 8, I am 18 now and have been taking a couple months months off before I start again,

it's never too late to start

I really do wish I had started playing guitar when I was 5 though...
