  1. I use to read her column all the time. One day when I was reading it I discovered that a story that I had wrote many years ago in school was in her column. It was called "Please God, I'm Only 17". So when I read that in her column, I wrote to her and told her that was a story that I had indeed wrote myself several years ago. She wrote back to me and wanted to know when I wrote to story. I told her when I wrote it and she wanted to know if by some chance that I still had the paper that it was wrote on back then. By luck I did still have the paper with the story on it, the paper had yellowed, I sent it to her, she gave me the credit for the story. As time went on it even ended up in the "Chicken Soup'' book as well. But in the ''Chicken Soup'' book, some of the story had been changed a little from the way that I had written it.

  2. read it daily...never wrote

  3. I read her column everyday, but haven't written to her.  I also read Dear Margo, but she only has one or two columns a week. They can be very interesting.

  4. I have read and written to Ann Landers but never Dear Abby.

  5. Remember what the late great psychologist Leo Buscaglia said about advice..."Fools won't heed it and wise men don't need it."

  6. Yes I have read Dear Abby, but dont you think answers is better then Dear Abby.  You get so much more input on answers!!

  7. I used to read it sometimes as it was on the same page as the comics in our local paper and that is no doubt where it belonged most of the time.

No, I never wrote to her, but thought about doing so several times when she gave real bad answers.

  8. never wrote to dear abby but yes I do read her columns

  9. Read, would never write. I need a chuckle every so often. All the advice points to one thing, instead of actually solving a problem, you have to get therapy. If the other person won't go, you still need to. Obviously she's a shill for psychiatry. That's 90% of her answers-get therapy. What a hoot.

  10. Read it still sometimes.  I had never thought about what Wooly said, That makes sense.  I wounder what her cut is.

  11. Yes, I read both this one and Dear Ann Landers daily. I think I may have tried writing, but it was too long and didn't make any sense.

  12. Read yes, good fiction....

  13. I wrote to her a long time ago; never got a response. I read the  column every day. Now, it is her daughter who responds. I think that is really neat!!

What did she consider "heavy petting"?

    [Really...I never was sure.]

  19. Yes, but I preferred her sister's column that went by the name "Ask Ann Landers"!

  20. Yes, twice when I was thirteen.  My question was about "boys" and I recieved a hand written answer both times. I still have the letters.

  21. Never wrote to her, but always read it. Reading about some of these peoples problems makes me feel like I'm not as loopy as I first thought I was.

  22.      I read both Dear Abby and Ann Launders with reverence every day for many years. I was sorry to see them both leave. They can and will never be replaced.

  23. I've read both hers & her sister's. Most of the answers were common sense, so if you have that, you don't need the opinion of either of them.

  24. I used to read it for laughs but quit taking the paper about 20 years ago.

  25. I read her column daily but have never written to her.
