Did you feel the earthquake in Southern California? What was it like?

Was it powerful enough to knock things off shelves? Was anyone hurt that you know of? The news says it was a 5.4 and felt all the way over in Las Vegas! I live in Michigan and we never have earth quakes or if we do, they aren't very noticeable. What time did this quake happen???

I work in down town L.A and let me tell you that for a second there we all thought that it was going to be the big one, being that we haven't had one in such a long time it made you think the worse. I'm up on the 32 floor of the library tower and it swayed. Ratted some nerves I can tell you that.

yes it was pretty powerful but no one that i know got hurt.

5.4? really. i saw on the news it was 5.8.

it happened around 11:42. That was the first big earthquake that i experienced so it felt strange. >:/

haha! i felt it :] i was in my SAT prep class. the earthquake gave me a headache. it happened around 11:30. it wasn't that powerful, but you can see the inside of the building shake. surprisingly, i was calm about it.

omg i felt it i was with my sister and we were watching the steve wilkos show and all of a sudden the house starts shaking and then i realize its an earthquake and then i say is it over yet it was over but it hit me that it could knock the house down and we could die so i say nina hurry we have to get out of the house and so we grab my cat larry and take him outside to be safe.... it was over but then i look over outside at my pool and  it was so wavy that i KNEW it was an earthquake.... this was shocking for me and very scary because this is like my first real earthquake that i witnessed .... i mean i was alive for the northridge earthquake in 1994 but i was a baby and i was sleeping so i didnt even know but this was very very scary for me thankfully eveyrone was ok even my cats :)

it was really scary, and it sucks, cause i was baby sitting my two little cousins so they were like crying and freaked out.

but im happy it wasnt too big.

i hope no one got hurt.

well it was a 5.4 earthquake. go figure lol

it woke me up ! im usually a deep sleeper.

i thought that this was the BIG ONE, you know the one thats going to be 9 point something. it happened around 11:42 am. not a great way to start my day cus i was expecting to wake up at 3 or 4 in the afternoon like i always do lol the worst part was that no ones cell phone was working !!!!!

thank god no one got hurt.

it happen at 11:42 am pacific time the first reports was that it was a 5.8 earthquake now they say is a 5.4.

the epicenter was in chino hills but was felt in all southern california, as well in vegas.

it was really scary and we are still feeling aftershocks.

felt the earthquake! it was scrary.

this is how i lived it:

i ran outside my front yard cause my niece and nephew were out there playing and my little brother was inside so i told them to get inside but they didn't even notice.

and i was watching t.v. when suddenly i heard like people walking in my roof and i was like i wonder who is up there but then my walls were shaking and the windows too. and it was horrible i hope it stops shaking because there has been alot of aftershocks as well. it was scary because my parents were not home so i was left with all the toddlers.

im about 5 miles from the epicenter so it was shaking like crazy

i w as getting dressed and fell into my closet

all the picture frames are crooked but nothin fell

it rawked except now i have to clean my closet again

High Desert area of California - about 40 miles from the quake.  No damage, no one hurt here.  2nd story of building and just a rockin' and rollin' motion.  It was a 5.8 at 11/42 am PDT

yaaa it was so scary.

i was just sitting down and all of sudden i feel like the house rocking back and fourth...shaking and i knock down the table next to me and knock down the screen of the door and run outside haha

i was so scared that i just did anything to get outside

it was the strongest earthquake i have felt yet.

my sister's trophy fell off of her dresser, but that's all. nobody was hurt, and by the way it was a 5.8

i was at summer skool and yes it was really really hard...the tv we have in the classroom..hit my teacher on the head! and she fainted so it was really really bad!!!

It felt like a "whole lotta shakin' goin' on"! :) It occurred at 11:42 PDT (1:42- your time), & it was strong enough to knock pictures off the Walls & some stuff off of Shelves... It wasn't a Bad One- as Earthquakes go... But it WAS big enough to "rattle you"- if you didn't know what was going on...  :)

Yes it was very hard i was at a grocery store with my mom today in corona close to the epicenter we were by the bread area and the wine shelf full of glass next to us and around 11:30  it started to shake really bad the shelf almost fell over the wine bottles feel out of the shelf one almost fell on top of me it was a scary feeling the lights turned off it lasted about 20 to 25 seconds!...Crazy experence!

when the earthquake came, i said, "wheeeeee!"
