Did they get it right??

I have 2 boys already, I kept their gender as a surprise. I am pregnant again with my 3rd & desperate to know if i'll get a girl this time. I had a gender scan on Saturday but she wasnt very sure- there was 3 white lines but they weren't too clear so it was left 60/40 for a girl & i've to go back in 3weeks! I'm trying not to get my hopes up but after looking at a few sites I've heard quite a few stories about people being told its almost certainly a girl then giving birth to a boy!! Just wondered how common this really is??

  1. sometimes the gender scan can be wrong though, sometimes unclear because of the baby's position into the uterus, i've heard so many people who were told they would have boys and they end up getting girls and vice-versa

i am 4 months pregnant with my first baby and i prefers to keep the baby's gender as a surprise, but i understand your situation, you already got 2 boys so may be this time you would prefer to have a lil sweet baby girl

    all the best

  2. Well when i was having my twins i so wanted to know the sexes and she was truly honest she said yes there is a boy but i am not at all sure BUT looks like a boy also (one twin had legs closed) so really on the day when i had the section out came Thomas and next Jordan NO WAIT it was a girl ..so she did get it wrong but was honest so it didn't matter so Thomas and Kylie it was !

  3. i had a s*x scan and they told me it was a boy and indeed it was a little boy. Good luck  xxxxxxx

  4. i found out the s*x of all my babies during pregnancy, this time round i dint know because my hospital has a policy of not telling what the s*x is because someone was told they were having a boy and the woman had a girl and sued the hospital!!! ive had 3 boys and one girl and all the scan predictions were correct, would like to find out what im having this time,i might consider a private gender scan tho.

  5. I know its more common for them to get it wrong that way round, saying its a girl and it turns out to be a boy as the male organs hadn't been as developed as they may should be at the time of the scan, this happenned to a friend of mine, she was told she was having a girl and had a boy.!

we had our scan at 20w and she was 100% were having a boy! we got a good look at his bits lol.. no mistaking its a boy for us! lol..

  6. i found out with both my children my first was a boy and you could defo see it was a boy

2nd was a girl they said you could see 3 lines but they couldnt be 100% sure it would be a girl because they cannot commit themselfs incase people sue them

    they are enerally correct though

  7. nah they are usually correct.Anyone says different is not telling the truth.

  8. Yes both times and it was correct. One boy and one girl. We plan to try for another baby next year and I think that I will keep it a surprise next time. My friend had her son 2 months ago. They told her she was having a girl. She had to bring her baby boy home to a pink nursery. Its quite funny now but at the time it was a bit of a shock for them haha.

  9. I didn't find out with my first (which was a boy) but I found out with my 2nd (which was a girl). I'm due my 3rd now and I will definitely want to know at my 20 week scan if baby is a boy or girl. I think it's nicer to know as you can get all the clothes ready etc. As for the sonographers getting it wrong I'm sure it does happen but I wouldn't say they make the mistake too regularly!

  10. Fingers crossed for you, if they tell you it's a girl it's 70% accurate, if they tell you a boy it's 90% accurate, sounds like it could be a girl though!

They told me I was having a girl at 22 weeks, and I didn't believe them, I was so certain it was a boy, but they were right!!

    Good luck!

  11. Well this is my first pregnancy and I go for my scan today so I'm super excited to see what they say, but it can be wrong sometimes. I hope you get your little girl! Good luck.

  12. when i had my scan there was a notice on the wall about this and it says there's a 20% chance of them predicting the wrong s*x....

I know there's a lot of old wives tales about it depends when and how the baby was conceived and that if you crave certain foods you are supposed to be pregnant with a boy or a girl but i think the only true way of finding out is the gender scan... and it seems like they get that wrong quite often.

soz hun... fingers crossed for a girl!!!

  13. There was someone on my ward that happened to. But what I would think is if you are pinning your hopes on it being a girl, if it comes out as a boy they will forever feel that they have disappointed you as you did not want them you wanted a girl. Leave it and wait for a surprise at the birth. Why ruin the biggest surprise you will ever get.
