Question:

Did you gain any weight in your first trimester?

I just got back from the doctor, (I'm 13 weeks.) Apparently I've gained about 5 pounds. I'm not skinny, but I'm not fat either. I'm sick all the time and I vomit a lot, but when I can eat, I can pretty much only keep carbs down- English muffins and things. So I thought I had gained more weight than I had. It seems to be tapering off a little so I can't wait to start exercising (I could barely leave the house for the better part of 3 mos.)

How's it going for you?

  1. In my first trimester I lost about 10lbs with all of my kids. 2nd trimester hit and thats when I gained the bulk of my weight.

    I gained 18lb, 19lb and 34lb total with my 3 kids.

  2. i actaully lost weight in the first trimester and in the second gained it back again now in my third i have gained weight. just keep in mind you are supposed to gain weight so dont over exercise.

  3. sounds very normal, I actually lost weight from throwing up in first trimester

  4. first trimester, I always gain about 4lbs. Everyone is different though! Good luck and congrats!

  5. I gained 10 lbs the first trimester and 15 the second.

Oh I KNOW!! I have no idea how that happened.

I was eating healthy, and sometimes barely eating because I was sick! all i know is I was 115 lbs before I got pregnant, now I'm 34 weeks and 152 lbs! But all is well I guess. Every pregnancy is different.

  6. I'm 12wks3 days and I have been sick for about 90% of my 1st trimester. I was also just recently diagnosed with IBS So I'm having a really hard time. But to answer your question I lost about 13lbs so far  in my pregnancy, I couldn't keep anything in and I'm hungry all the time but sometimes I just can't eat so I don't

  7. I lost weight in my 1st trimester.  I didn't start gaining weight until 20 weeks and I ended up gaining 15lbs total.

  8. there is no answer to what is "normal" everyone gains at a different rate

during my first trimester with my first baby i lost 10 lbs! and by the time I was into my second trimester I had just barley started to gain back what I had lost. By week 41 when I gave birth I gained 28 lbs..... and that was healthy for me and my baby

now I am 20 weeks with baby # 2 and I have only gained 1 lb! I lost 5 in the first......

My best friend who is quite small like me, gained 10lbs in her first trimester and hardly anything during the second and then topped off at 40lbs at 38 weeks!!

  9. I am also 13 weeks and I have been barely able to leave the house these last two months as well. I haven't gained any weight yet due to me being sick all the time I believe. I'm so happy to be entering our second trimester though. I'm due March 6th, what about you?

  10. I'm due march 7. I lost about 10 lbs in the first two months. I was so sick. In the last 3 weeks, I've gained my 10 lbs back and added 3 more.  It seems to be all in my stomach and breast area.

  11. I had gained 4lbs by 21 weeks, and 27 lbs altogether. I wasn't fat but wasn't skinny to start with either. Everyone gaines weight differently, I gained most of mine in my second trimester, my best friend gained almost all hers during her frist trimester, and hardly any the rest of her pregnancy. Some girls gain most of theirs during the 3rd trimester, so don't be worried, eat healthy and stay active, good luck and CONGRATS!!!!

  12. i feel uber bloated but i think i have only gained a few pounds

  13. I am 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant (1st pregnancy) and have lost 2 pounds so far. Thats probably because of being sick 90% of the times, though I haven't vomitted at all. The baby is doing fine and everything seems normal according to my ultrasound and obgyn.

  14. I lost 3lbs in my first trimester. But now I have gained 18lbs at 24 weeks.

3 to 5 is normal during the first

    and

1 to 2lbs per week during the second is normal.
