Did you get emotional watching Shawn Johnson on the podium?

I have really enjoyed this weekend, but seeing Shawn Johnson on the podium getting the gold got me a little.

I think she is the girl that we all wish ours could be. Great role model. goes to public school. Seems to have her priorities straight. And that smile is just contagious.

I was cheering, she really desevered it. While I was waiting for the results I was shaking,cause I knew it was her last chance!! I was more nervous than watching my football team perform in the last minute at the championship playoffs and thats nerve wrecking. When she won I couldnt stop smiling. TEAM JOHNSON!!!!!

She does have the greatest smile of all the Olympians and I was cheering during her beam routine and when she got her gold medal. Seeing her on the podium getting the gold medal is one of the greater moments of the Olympics (of course after Michael Phelps 7th and 8th gold).

YES!! My eyes started watering sooo bad. Me and my mom were watching it and I was like " I'm getting a drink" so I could clear my eyes haha.

i was completely overwhelmed when she won the gold medal, she definitely deserved it, and her smile is contagious, hahaha

it's makes me PHYSICALLY melt, even though it's physically imspossible, it literally felt like i was sinking into my seat at the competition where she won, i was sooooo happy.

I'm a guy who never cries, but this girl makes the impossible seem possible....it's unbelievable how cute and adorable she is, and i have never had such a big crush on anyone.....(MAYBE alicia sacramone....but....shawn all the way)

so what i'm trying to say is......when i'm around her, i feel like an ice cream

That presence in the medal ceremony reminds me of olympian Shannon Miller.

But even though the USA national anthem was played and the gold medal went around Shawn's neck, there was, I believe, slightly less hoopla in Shawn's victory than that of 1984 when Mary Lou Retton won the gold medal in the women's all-around in gymnastics in Los Angeles.

I got emotional watching her parents and also because I knew Shawn had been crying before going to the podium.  I mean, her parents put three mortgages on their house so Shawn can live her dream and most times Gymnastics doesn't have a big pay off (monetary or emotionally) and for her it did.

Yeah, i got a little emotional.

Especially since she's been working so hard. I believe she deserved it.

She's my role model too.

So of course i had to get at least a little emotional....
