Did you get pregnant without having a period?

Question

ok, we are not yet ttc, hubby and i want to wait just a little while longer but I am not having my period. its been over 7 months and over the past month i went to the doctor and had hormone tests and blood tests and i know i am not pregnant now and my hormones are in normal ranges. all the doctor told me is that my body is just adjusting my hormone levels, and i need to take a progesterin pill every 3 months to have a period until were ready to start trying for a baby then i will probably need clomid or a like medicine for that. i asked her specifically "am i ovulating?" and she said no but i could.

so now im left with the fact that I am not ovulating now, I am not getting a period, and I have no idea if and when my period will ever natually come. I asked her if we needed condoms, and she said pregnancy isnt impossible. so my question is has this ever happened to anyone else and gotten pregnant, it would be nice to save some money while we can and not use any condoms ;P

i am sad about the outcome and know that in a year or 2 when we do start "trying" im sure its going to be difficult, but well deal with that hurdle when we get to it.

i didn't have a period for 7 years and i had lots of tests done and my hormones looked normal i also had to have blood taken regularly to find out if i was ovulating but i wasn't ans my fiance and i never used contraception and i never got pregnant as we were trying! then feb 2007 my appendix were playing up and i had them removed then out of the blue my periods went back to regular like they had never been gone we started trying harder to have a baby but i was still not ovulating even though i had my period so i used clomid and I'm now 17 Weeks pregnant with my 1st so clomid does work if you do have to take that root but you will most probably have to take another drug to regulate your periods so that you can take the clomid good luck hun and i hope you get somewhere when your ready!

I got pregnant of twins without having my period in 7 months. This was 5 years ago. After when i was 7 moths without the period i went to the doctor because i have never lose my period for that long. I was 1 month pregnant with twins. So its possible that you can get pregnant without the period because you can ovulate and you get pregnant. So if you dont wnat to have a baby at this moment maybe you should use condoms...

You could ovulate at anytime and get pregnant without having a period.  Since you have no idea when it is, then yes it is very possible.  If it was me I would just go without the condoms and if I did get pregnant count it a blessing since it is going to be a long road when you start to try.  My husband and I are waiting a year or two as well.  He would probably be a little uneasy if we were in your situation and not using anything.

one of my friends had gotten off of birth control and didnt get a period in 5months when she went to the doctor she was 3months pregnant so..i think its possible...God works in mysterious ways

I would say if you don't really care when you get pregnant, although now you might think you want to wait a year or 2, but if you are ok with the possibility or getting pregnant sooner than later, I would say don't worry about the condoms especially if you aren't ovulating.

Your chances of concieving without a period are probably pretty slim without a period, but like your doc said, not impossible.

If you aren't ovulating, you cannot get pregnant.

I went through the same thing... I took clomid when the time was right - she is almost seven now.
