And did it seem to go away on it's own?

I Did.... and it kept redirecting my searches to these odd websites.

IAW ...pay us 60 bucks and your can have computer back.

I went to Mozilla for a couple of weeks....

when I went back to IE and ran a search....everything back to normal.

IT's not a virus....it's not an adware....it's an extortion attempt.

But it went away and I didn't do anything but go to another browser for awhile.

Did you have it and did it go away?

  6. I dont know that it can just go away. It is a rogue virus which infects your computer with viruses and then tries to get you to buy their software to remove it, then for most people who do buy the software they get their credit cards ran up. To be on the safe side I would do the steps to remove it because I know people who have had charges of up to $500 put on their credit card because of it.

  7. why even worry , seriously Antivirus 2008 /2009 is so freaking easy to remove it's not funny . sure for most it's scary because they have no idea how to remove it . but there are PLENTY of products out there that remove it pretty easily such as combofix
