  1. nope -kindergarten wasn't even required when I was a child. Now both are absolutely essential - preschool to help your child socialize and learn kindergarten readiness.

  2. noooo

  3. No I am from the generation where there was not even kindergarten for children. I think for me I would have benefited from it socially. I had very low self esteem and was very shy as a child. School was very hard for me and I always felt dumb. It was hard to make friends and I was scared of everything about school. When I think about it I wonder how I survived psychologically. It is important to allow your children to feel comfortable in a classroom setting so they will be able to learn in a more structured setting. Children need to know that learning is fun and they need to development a desire for knowledge. I feel preschool even a couple of mornings a week can accomplish this.

  4. Yes but in my day it was called nursery school. It was at the church were we use to go.

  5. Nope! My grandma came over a lot and was always making me write things out. I came into kindergarden ahead of my class with a basic PBS education. It didn't hurt my education at all, and the only thing that I lacked in kindergarden was experience with kids my age. But when you're five, you pick up on that pretty fast!

  6. no i did not my mother said she felt as though 13 years of school was enough then we have college so i dont feel the need for it only if the parents are working and cant spend that much time teaching the child

  7. I did not go to preschool.  My mother was a "stay at home" mom. She gave me her time and full attention until ready for public school. She then went to work days while I went to school.      :)

  8. yup but i stop i have to move to other place

  9. No it sucks..

  10. Yes.

  11. yes. my mom said it would make me be a little more ahead in kindergarten and it really helped

  12. yes i did in california

  13. but of course

  14. Yes I did. Preschool gave me an idea of what it was like to be around other kids my age. I'm the first born in my family and preschool helped me to learn to share and interact well with other kids.

  15. Nope. I was fortunate that my mother was able to stay at home with me and my brother.

Preschool is great for children who don't get the opportunity to be around other children their age and to learn socialization before school, but again I was lucky, I had a large extended family with plenty of children to be around.

  16. Of course it was called SESAME STREET:)
