If so, what did you serve them?

I've noticed in reading various catering menus online that many places have what they call kid's menus, but I don't know alot of

children who would eat anything on them since they are mostly adult food.

  1. I'd just give them a small portion of what will be served.Alot of kids dont really eat much, but some really do love sweets or chips. So i would give small portion of what you guys will be eating and some chips on the side and cookies or something.

  2. Most of the places around here had pizza, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and fries for the kids. With fresh fruit cups, jello and pudding for them for deserts.

  3. We didn't as we had a buffet style dinner. We counted kids and if they could eat half or a full plate.

  4. I didn't have kids at the wedding.  I had an adult party and parents were provided with the names of several babysitters in the area.

Request something simple.  Like Chicken Nuggets and Mac N Cheese.  Kids over 10 or 11 should be able to order off the adult menu.  If your caterer won't provide simple foods, then either find another caterer or urge parents with picky kids to get a babysitter that night.

  5. For my wedding I did have a separate kids menu. I think it was mac and cheese, snow peas, and chicken nuggets. I actually would have preferred that to the big kid food I ate on my wedding day.

  6. yes, our caterer had only once choice for children though

chicken fingers, mac and cheese and applesauce.

  7. The only 2 kids at my wedding willbe my niece and nephew and they are ultra picky. Their mom is bringing sandwiches and chips for them. I am not paying for doos that they will not eat.

  8. As long as the pieces don't choke them because they are too large, or the dish is very spicey, kids eat what adults do....if you are having a buffet style meal, that will be perfect for kids as long as all the food offered isn't too elaborate, fussy, or spicey....finger style foods for kids are great...(and grown ups, too hehe) good luck.

  9. Yes, you have to. They don't appreciate the food and you're going to end up paying full price for them I had a kids meal. It had chincken tenders, cookie, and a fruit cup for half the price and they still didn't eat all of it.

  10. kids eat the same food as adults. But some foods are a bit easier for them to eat and less messy. For kids its nice to get something they can easily eat with there hand. especially if they are very young, so they can feed them self's and there parents don't have to feed them while they are trying to eat.

I am thinking of getting a pizza or easy kiddies meals at a restaurant for the kids (at our venue we don't pay for kids under 5, but still think will be nice to get them something they will enjoy) Hungry kids are moody kids, you do not want that.

oh, and please do not make to much sweets and chips and things like that available to the kids. I little is fine...but..Kids on sugar is nightmare kids.

I am getting a baby sitter for my Wedding to entertain the kids. So they can have Fun and be Happy. I do not want then running all over with their parents behind them. I also do not want them to be Crying the night away.

  11. What do you mean by "adult food." Most kids eat chicken, red meat, vegetables and other things that would be on a menu.

  12. Here is a copy of our response card with our menu. Yes, there is a separate item for kids.

  13. We had  a separate table for the kids' food.  We had little hot dogs and pizza... I think.  heh, Oh gosh, I can't remember exactly now, but I know we asked for food that was specifically for the kids that went.
