Question:

Did you have a theme...?

I was thinking of themes that I may want to do for a nursery (we are still TTC, but this is just something I like to think about). My hubby and I thought about doing just Pooh, or all Disney characters, or maybe just sports (if it's a boy).

Did you do a theme? If so, what was it??

  1. i wanted something different in mine,, simply because ive seen so many that are like teddy bears and such,, so i went with frogs and turtles, the cute ones with the big heads and little cute smiles!! i chose it before i knew i was having a boy, i figured that they were cute enough for either gender!!!

  2. I did zoo animals! You never know what characters they'll like when their three. The animals can stay for awhile, and his room is really cute. I got him a bear floor rug, and a bed set with animals. I found pictures of zoo animals and framed them and hung them on his eye level on the wall. He loves to play the game where he points to the one I ask for. I found an adorable Noah's ark lamp that matches his room. Zoo animals stuff was really easy to find, and I'm really happy with  the way his room turned out.

    Other themes boys like are...

    cars and transportation

    dinosaurs

    farm animals

    tools

    Themes little girls like...

    Princesses

    Dancers

    Butterflies

    Fairies

Those are just a few themes I could think of in case you wanted to do something other than a character.

My next child's room is being done in blue bubbles. I have bubble wall paper and lots of wooden circle cut outs to make a decor with.

I love to do things myself and make things from scratch. It's a lot easier for me if I don't use characters. Just an idea. Good luck, and baby dust your way!

  3. for my son we painted the walls 2 shades of a pale green and did his room with classic winnie the pooh..with cherry wood furniture and trim to seperate the 2 greens on the walls...with my daughter we did the same thing but with 2 shades of pink with white trim and furniture and her bedding was first butterflies and now its Disney Princess...

  4. With our daughter her theme was butterflies. With our first son his theme was jungle animals and our last son had Spurs because he was named after a player.

  5. I am due in November and find out next Thursday what it is. If I am having a girl, I'll do the nursery in Care Bears and if it's a boy I'm letting my boyfriend pick and I think he wants sports in there. I think Pooh is way overused. But I like the ideal of all Disney characters. Good Luck.

  6. We haven't painted ours yet but we have everything for it. We aren't doing a theme because you'd just have to redo everything once your child changes his/her mind, which could be like a week or something. We are doing pretty, bright colors and we have these big circles that you can peel and put on the wall and you can change their position whenever you want.

Think about if you would want to put in all the effort to accommodate your child's changing preferences in cartoon characters or TV shows.

    Good luck!!

  7. do a light green with cute frogs..not like over the top but in a cute way..

    only use light/soft colors

  8. I did a pink and lime green room with butterflies and all white furniture with a dollhouse..her own little chair and a big shaggy pink rug in the center of her room..its very girly.

  9. I surprised my husband by doing an all Steelers theme in the nursery. He's a huge fan and we had a little boy, so it was the obvious thing to do. It's also something that can grow with him as he gets older, not too "babyish".
