  1. my personal experience with this drug is that once the labor gets going it is fairly intense and the contractions come close together.  but try not to worry about it, i'm  sure they are doing what's best for you and your little bundle of love.

      good luck

  2. Both of my previous pregnancies were pitocin induced because I was overdue at 42 weeks with both.  The contractions came really hard and fast.  I was given the epidural at 3cm and after that everything was fine. Try not to worry too much and just keep in mind that you'll have your baby in your arms soon. Good luck and congrats!!!

  3. Well with my daughter I had to be induced with pitocin too and I was very scared as well I heard that pitocin was the devil.  I got pitocin and state all in my IV at the same time and dilated right to 10 within a half an hour.  My guess it works for some and don't for others.  My best advice to you is to relax as much as possible and let your body do the work I know that that is easier said than done but just try your hardest!  I wish you the best!

  4. They had the pitocin turned up too high for me!  My contractions were within seconds of eachother....there was no relief.  And when they turned it up my daughter's heartrate dropped ....they came rushing in and a nurse reached up and stimulated her head somehow and made her heartrate bounce back.   Thank God.  But it was scary.   My 9 hours of labor ended with a c-section though......otherwise labor would have dragged on and on and on....according to my doc.  My water had broken first though and they say it is harder when that happens.

I'm having a c-section next time though too...so I won't have to worry about laboring.

I didn't tell you this to scare you though.  As long as everything is supervised really well...there should be no problems!

Get the epidural as soon as they offer it to you.  SERIOUSLY.

  5. I had pitocin and had no complications. I wanted to get the show on the road, I would recommend that if you are giong to do that get an epidural first, the contractions do sneak up on you and they are intense.  My labor lasted only 9 hours, and only the last 3 hours I was in pain until I had the epidural.

  6. i did because my water broke and my cervix wasnt dropping and i wasnt dilating. i had a normal labor but i was on pitosin for 12 hrs after 6 hrs of sooo much pain they gave me demoral which made me really happy and delusional. demoral doesnt get rid of the pain it just makes you not notice it cuz ur all woozy. i would talk and i didnt even know what i was saying haha and it helped me sleep a lil. then after that i went from 2 cm to 4 to bam 8 and then her head was poking out and 4 hrs of puching later she came out. oh yes i also got an epidural which i looved but next time around hopefully i dilate quicker so i can go natural.

  7. i did not but my friend did and she did not like it, plus it did not help her, she ended up having a c-sec :(
