Did you have to wash clothes

Question

on the old ringer type washer? We did and my sister got her arm caught in it we were yelling for mom she said just go backwards like we were plain nuts.I guess we were we done some crazy things when we were young.

My mother had one and I washed clothes on it many times. I think that they get clothes cleaner and the wringer gets the clothes really dried out. I wish they still made them.

Had fingers/hand in there a few times, but just backed it up and no problem.  If you had a whole arm in there I don't think it was set tight enough.

Anyway, the wringer would be useful now to save energy because it would get a lot of the water out before putting in the dryer.

Yes, I did, and got my hand in it too. However I knew where the emergency switch was that released the rollers. My mother told me where it was because she got her hands in one when she was a kid, and she rang the thing backwards to get her hand out. She said it hurt worse rolling it out that when she first ran it in! You know, they made those old ringer washers up until the '70's?

Yes, i use to put my G.I. JOE, army men in there and get yelled at by my mom, i just wanted to see if it would crush them!
