Did you hear about DVDs that are good for 2 days then stop working?

I heard Staples came out with this DVD, for 4.99, that you could watch for 2 days, then the DVD stopped working. What is that???

A couple of companies adopted this a while back.  It was called EZ-D.  Once the disc was removed from its packaging, the movie can be viewed as many times as desired within the 48 hour window. After the 48 hours elapses, the disc becomes unreadable by the DVD player.

it's kind of like renting a movie without having to take it back, I've seen those around as well
