I just saw on the news about how Barron Pykes, a 21-year-old black man was tasered to death by a police officer.
He was wearing handcuffs but he did not get up quickly enough for the police officer so the officer (who was white) tasered him 6 times. When the officer told him to get out of the police car, he did not move so he was thrown onto the pavement and tasered 2 more times. However, he did not move because he was DEAD. The coroner released th autopsy and said that the man was dead in the car.
Why do police officers think this is standard procedure? The man was in handcuffs. How much damage could he do? He was not even fighting or resisting arrest, he just was too slow getting up.
Thoughts?
