Did you hear about the incident involving Port Adelaide's Chad Cornes?

Does anyone know what happened?

I heard he was reported to Police for assualting former Magery Medalist Fred Phillis over a family domestic matter.

Phillis claims Cornes was in company with his brother Kane & another person & that they assaulted him. Police are looking into the matter.

I can't believe that Collingwood players weren't involved - maybe the unidentified other person was a Magpie. I like this type of gossip - do you?

Yeah, I read about it. A few articles in the newspapers though I haven't seen anything on TV about the incident. Probably well covered in SA.

Yes, I heard about it & I know what happened.

What happened wasCornes got involved because Phillis was his mum's ex boyfriend. He went there to help her move her gear.

And like a typical AFL footballer, he wasn't game to go alone - so he took his brother & another bloke with him. Phillis said it was a 3 on 1 situation & they were all half his age.

I know no more as to what's happened than there is the newspapers. Everyone in here is saying that this Phillis bloke is a drunk. Do they know this personally?

He was helping his mother move furniture out of the house.

I dont know why...But Phillis being a drunk etc etc might have something to do with it.....MAYBE!

I think you will find that the matter is quiet hyped up by the media and Fred Phillis. Someone caliming to know what happened has one major fact incorrect. Fred Phillis is the husband of Pam Cornes not the boyfriend. He is a drunk he admitted it himself in the paper a few weeks back. He said the boys weren't invited to the house. Well from what has been said the boys went to help her move out of the home so why would they need his permission to go to her house when under regular circumstances I should imagine this wouldn't be the case. He seems to be bitter and that the boys are supporting their mother which is against what he wants. So what if he got shoved by a son whom more than likely has seen his mother go through a horrible time by the hands of another person. I would do the same.

Yeah. I heard about it - or rather I read about it.

I hope he doesn't get locked up - because he was the captain of my fantasy team last year (& I won my local comp....therefore a few free beers). I don't want him breaking rocks next season - I want him in my team!
