  1. ohhh man. I was afraid of that. i have a lot of office depot stuff. i hate stewart!

  2. Well.  We all expected it didn't we???   Just not so soon. But Office Depot???  Home Depot won't be sponsoring Tony???  I find that so odd.  Tony is the best spokesman for Home Depot. I'll go to Lowes if HD blows off Tony.   Might not make a big splash but will mean something to me.

I wonder if Zippy goes with him???

  3. Yep, I thought that was going to happen.  There have been rumblings of this for a week or so.  Thanks for the heads up.  Have a great weekend.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  4. Well, thats good. They can get a quality sponsor at Haas and turn the team around with a great driver like Stewart.

  5. I'll believe it when I see it.  Still, though, what happened to someone sticking with the same team for their career?

  6. office depots stupid for leaving edwards comon 3 wins in one season

  7. well office depot is stupid there driver can backflip off the roof of a car Tony can barely get up a fence

  8. Yep, I heard this a week ago, the article also said Ryan Newman will be his teammate and Burger King will be his sponsor.

    I wonder if it's true...

  9. I read  that Office Depot was booted by Roush and Aflac was taking over as primary sponsor on the 99.

It's rumored around Charlotte that Chevrolet is (or is trying) to buy Tony Stewart out of his contract with JGR. Don't quote me though that's just rumor.

  10. I new that

  11. Yup! Heard it.....

    Good for Carl.

    Stewie, stay off the fence.

  12. Office Depot wasnt coming back to Carl anyways because Roush wanted more money.  AFLAC picked up the option to sponsor Carl.  Thats a done deal.

Like prevoiusly said, Tony and HAAS is a done deal, Tony will be bought out of his contract with Gibbs and Tony will be racing with his own team next year.  It's going to be interesting to see how Tony picks for a teammate.  My money is on Truex.

Edit:  Tony will be making his announcment  at Indy here in July on what his official plans are.

  13. Tony doesn't leave number 20 until 2010. And I don't see why Office Depot should leave Carl Edwards and the 99 team. They're good.

  14. Maggie - from what I understand the only reason Home Depot won't go with Tony is because they are pulling out of NASCAR after this season. Something about a slumping economy and 4th-quarter losses from last year, etc. What I want to know is if Zippy is going with him. They both always said they didn't want to do this without the other one.

"UPDATE: supposedly the deal is done, earlier Friday, a source close to the situation said that Chevrolet has agreed to terms with Joe Gibbs Racing to buy Tony Stewart out of his contract with the #20-Toyota Sprint Cup racing team. Stewart will indeed be making the move to Haas CNC Racing, a rumor that has been circulating for months. Supposedly Stewart’s new sponsor will be Office Depot and terms have been finalized regarding the impending sponsorship. In addition, Stewart will be joined by current #12 Penske Racing driver Ryan Newman, who would be sponsored by Burger King. No word yet on what car numbers the drivers will run and an announcement could come as early as next week at the Daytona International Speedway."

So there y'all have it..... I think.

  15. Let Silly Season continue...LOL...I sure hope Smoke does well with all these changes.  It is gonna be interesting, that's for sure.  Thanks for the info.

  16. Well I think everyone pretty much new the Hass Cnc thing was pretty much a done deal. I've also been saying I thought you would see them make the announcement around Indy. I'm a little surprised about Office Depot though. I thought UPS was the front runner for Tony unless I've missed something. Maybe they'll sponsor Newman or whichever driver Tony recruits.

  17. That makes me sad to think of Tony in a different color car and not sponsored by Home Depot I know that may sound corny but every time I think of Tony his bright orange car comes to mind too LOL anyways I'm sure Tony will be great no matter what it'll just take me a little while to get use to it!! LOL
