Question:

Did you hear that global warming was called off in 2007?

A North Pole expedition, meant to bring attention to global warming was called off due to frostbite and frigid temperatures. They were going to swim part of the way and it was just March. They had to be rescued like so many previous global warming expeditions, people with too much time and too much money. They almost died. Global warming activists must have religious issues since only faith would cause such obviously self-destructive behavior. Their brush with death hasn’t stopped them from believing. They want us to pass laws that institute the faith that almost killed them. Pollution is not the problem. It is whether the poison you breathe is too warm that concerns their flock.

This occurred in early 2007 before last years record pack ice in the Antarctic, before the worse winter on record in China, before the deep freeze across Russia and Europe, and from coast to coast in the United States. If there was really global warming shouldn’t we expect record cold not to ever be the rule?

  1. I remember those idiots.  They must picture the Arctic now as more like Florida.  The way the media hypes it as well as some on YA, they should take some blame for these nitwits getting frost bite.  The Arctic is still an extremely cold place.  I know Fairbanks was 40 below zero not too long ago.  Just think, if it wasn't for us humans, it might have been 41 below.

  2. "If there was really global warming shouldn’t we expect record cold not to ever be the rule?"

Nope.  Global warming is not a blowtorch that makes winter cold snaps disappear.  It's a slow but steady increase in AVERAGE temperature.  If we do nothing, it will cause great damage.

  3. yes politicians have little buttons in pockets

  4. Where I live, there is no Global Warming, we get winters every year, and they have not gotten warmer at all.  Our summers haven't been warmer at all either.

4 of the 5 past winters have been colder than normal.  This year has been especially cold.  It will be -20f tomorrow with really bad wind chills.

8 of the past 10 winters have been colder than normal, 15 of the past 20 winters have been colder than normal...  how far do you want me to go back...?   It's darn cold in MN during the winter and I know all about the seasonal change due to the earth's wobble, so don't call me an idiot.  I do realize that it is called winter for a reason.

What I'm telling you is that from a MN stand point...  There is no such thing as Global Warming, because it's not affecting anything in MN at all, it hasn't and it won't in the near future.

Unless the GW and AGW people are going to tell me that it's just around the corner and we'll warm up by May.   That's called 'Spring'.

I find it funny that where ever Al Gore flies to, to talk about his cause, usually record cold temps.

Remember folks, Global Warming equals Global Cooling.

  5. Global warming is having a coffee break in the Northern hemisphere,to recharge its batteries and fix some of the bugs .

Do not be lulled into a false sense of security,or you will be caught with your pants down.

    maybe they are down now,

  6. they are changing the name it no longer is global warming its global climate change.

that way they are covered ether way in there scam.

  7. Global warming is all made up.

  8. Global climate change -- really, it's more than just "global warming" -- doesn't mean that every place on earth gets warmer all the time.

When global climate change causes shifts in wind patterns and weather patterns, in fact, it may cause colder temperatures in a few places.  For instance, it is believed to have mostly caused somewhat colder average temperatures in the Southeastern part of the US.

However, your example from 2007 sounds like nonsense to me.  Or at least it's only half the story.

Sure -- It might be that some Arctic exploration was called off due to a temporary cold snap - or not.

But the really big news about the Arctic in 2007 was that for the first time in human memory, enough of the floating sea ice in the Arctic Ocean melted during the summers to open up the long-sought "Northwest Passage."

That is, enough Arctic sea ice melted to clear a sea route from the Atlantic coast of North America, over the northern coasts of Canada and Alaska, and down the Alaskan coast to the Bering Strait leading into the Pacific.

Remember how many of the early European explorers of North America kept looking and looking for the "Northwest Passage" as a route from Europe to China - but they never found it?

The reason they never found it was that the Arctic sea ice kept getting in the way.  But in 2007, the Arctic Ocean during the summer experienced its most extensive melting on record, and for the first time ever, the "Northwest Passage" was open for awhile.

This and other scientific news -- news about the faster melting of Greenland's glaciers, for example, and news about the speeding up of glacier flow in the Antarctic Peninsula -- show that 2007 was one of the hottest years on record, although not the very hottest.

You seem to have picked an isolated incident of greater cooling in order to fool us -- and maybe yourself -- about just how fast the Arctic region in particular is warming up.

  9. Are you pretending to be a fool or are you really one?

  10. Hey nobody said that global warming would happen all at once.  And the poles still get cold weather, just not as much of it.

The theory of global warming is more than 100 years old.  19th century chemists were concerned about small increases in CO2 caused by the industrial revolution.  And it's turned out that it's happening a lot faster than Arrhenius could ever have imagined...

  11. Don't forget about the record cold in India as well.

The cold wave is hitting India during the 'Combat Global Warming’ conference at the Indian Merchants Chamber in Mumbai.

Naturally the cold is blamed on "global warming".

Why are global warming conferences always scheduled during the cold?  I guess that's why the UN picked Bali.

  12. So they had to swim part of the way? I assume that is because the ice was melted and they had to cross open water. That sounds like warming to me. Last I heard 2007 was shaping up to be the warmest year, or one of the warmest years, on record.
