starbucks is set to close six hundred of their under performing stores.with the economy going bad,the high gas prices,and high grocery bills,people can't afford starbucks prices. you have to decide if you want pay for four dollar a gallon of gas,or four dollars for a cup of starbucks coffee.

They're not the only business with too many stores, if that is the case.

Starbucks expanded way too quickly, most of the stores they are closing are just minutes away from other stores.  They  jumped on a trend and took it over but they blurred their core business by adding too much merchandise, going overboard on food (love the coffees but I don't think their food is good), and getting into the music, games, etc.  They are making a good choice to regroup, cut some of the excess and focus on their core products and business model.

starbucks is amazing, people should complain to the government about gas prices and change them but u cant change how awsome starbucks is. ok in 2008 they close 6 hundred then what next year another 600?

this **** is rediculos and very sickening.so how bout they lower gas prices while there "makeing a change"

It's not true. They keep opening more of them every day.
