  1. Why is it treasonous? Many non-Brits have been awarded honourary knighthoods including Bob Geldof, Bill Gates and  Rudy Giuliani,

  2. She probably offers him "special benefits" we don't wanna know about too.

  3. The Constitution forbids that.  Not that Bush is going to ever let that stop him.

  4. Thats impossible. You have to be a British subject in order to knighted by the queen.

I could be knighted (but for what I have no idea)

  5. Treasonous? Why? The british are our allies. God save the queen, and all that.

  6. The British law forbids the Queen to Knight a Non British Subject! this Knighthood was applied to GB Snr, as a gesture, what is called an Honorary Knighthood! It has no substance in British law or Heraldry, and he can never call himself a Knight, nor can he be Sir George Bush! So No treason was committed, or any American Laws broken!

You little trouble maker you, you just shot yourself in the foot didn't you? eh? Teacher say's you must try harder if you want to be convincing. I don't think your a nice Mother at all!

  7. Yes. They are distant cousins, also.

  8. Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, in 1993...and not treasonous at all.The Queen honors foreigners with these awards.Civil servants receive these for their work for their governments;presidents are civil servants. Ronald Reagan received this honor as well. These KGBs are awarded to officers of the Armed Services, as well as to a small number of civil servants.

Numbers may be increased in times of war or in the event of any military or civil action or service which merits 'peculiar honour or reward'.

    from http://www.royal.gov/uk/output/Page4883....

"Foreign nationals may receive honorary membership of the Order and receive the insignia, although they are not eligible to use the style 'Sir'.

Two former Presidents of the United States have received GCBs: Ronald Reagan (1989) and George Bush (1993)."

  9. Hadn't heard about that one.

  10. He recieved an honorary knigthood from Queen Elizabeth.  He was the third American president to recieve the award.  The others were Eisenhower and our beloved Ragan.  How is it treason?  It is the same as someone wining a nobel prize or recieving a humanitarian award.

btw Treason affects your loyalty to your country; an award recognizes your contribution to a cause (which is often patriotic).
